I got sick of driving down to Colma and doing the whole Target 1 -> TRU -> Target 2 thing to find new alts and not finding anything, so this time I asked to speak to whever did the buying in TRU. The lady at the counter said that coporate does all the buying/distribution and that no one there had any say. She went to check the computer to see what would be coming in the next month or so and she said that it didn't look like they were getting any Alts for a while and that there weren't any listings coming up for future boxes.

thumbsdown.gif  LAME.

She was super nice though, and when she asked me what toy I was inquiring about, when I said Alternators she smiled and got this strange look in her eye... I asked her if she knew them and she was all "Yeah, I have a few. I really like Grimlock." Super cool.

Anyway, considering the fact that the two Colma targets have the same goddamn 12 Swindles warming thier shelves for the past 3 months (the one next to the mall has a Hound now though.... oooooooooo) I'm willing to believe that I won't need to be making this trip for some time to come.

Oh well-- it was a good excuse to go get some In-N-Out or Cold Stone, but I guess I'll have to find my trans-fats (pun intended) elsewhere. I'm sure as hell not going over the Bridge though!

Geary TRU here I come!

I got the same response at the San Jose WalMart yesterday (except the clerk said they weren't ordering any more Transformers.

I get the feeling that all the stores are done ordering TFs until Cybertron is released.  Which I'm guessing will probably be in July sometime (I think Hasbro will delay it until later in the summer in order to ship as much SW crap as possible).

Fyi Geary TRU has squat in the way of TFs. Save your gas and time, just went. thumbsdown.gif

Yeah, thanks for letting me know. I only go there when I want a bus ride or if it's anywhere in the middle of the day, but for the past 5 months or so that I've been going to that location, I have seen a total of 3 Alts.

I assume thier stocking practices are pretty similar to Colmas.

Do they still have and Ricochet's? I haven't checked thier CS prices since the big sale on them happened, so I don't know what's going on there. I swore I wouldn't get him because he's just a useless, obscure repaint to me, but it it were in the $7 range I might have to re-consider.

So where do you live? I'm around Bayshore and Ceasar Chavez. Produce District. Straightup!
Fortress_Maximus
they got two packed E-Prime & E-Galvies. Some leftover reissues, nothing worth noting. didn't see any alts. some basics and a few role playing things. other than that, crap.

they are well stocked with basic SWROTS figs though. tounge1.gif

Yeah, one of employess at the geary TRU refered to that store as the "Ghetto" TRU. I dont think I have ever found anything good there.

Which one-- geary or Colma? That's fuggin funny though, whichever it was!
Fortress_Maximus
IMO I'd say the Geary one, the TRU at Colma had more variety for the TFans than Geary, but how knows.
BaCon
It was Geary. biggrintf.gif

From what i understand, the ALTS never make it to the floor.  Apparently some of the workers collect it so they get first chops at it.  My friend had asked for ALTS and was told that. thumbsdown.gif

I'd definitely pick one up if it was MISB... I really don't collect them w/o boxes... call me a stickler, but I like opening them.

Thanks man!

no worries man.....so if there is a crease or minor dent on the box, do u still want it?  Or should i just pass?
echophonic
Funny timing-- my cousin actually just picked a couple up and is holding one for me next time I come back to town.

Thanks for thinking of it, but it looks like I've got one now!
