I've made a decision how I'm going to display my 20th anni Prime. He'll hold an American flag in one hand, his ion rifle in the other, and then above his head, I'll put a caption.

yeah, pretty much. I don't think the Autobots are loyal to any one country since Prime seeks to protect humans in general from the Decepticons.

Sounds a little like a major ego trip. Why not make up a flag of your own that shows the Earth itself and do it as protecting Earth's interests since Prime, the old G1 Prime, cared deeply for Earth. There's enough ego trips these days, there's a world beyond the US. If that sounds harsh, I don't care, my ex annoyed me a lot with her constant ego trips. I love Scotland, but I don't go waving a flag for it. So really, why not make it more fitting and consider what the old Prime did truly care for.

id make a flad with the autobot symbol but the american flag? no offence but the Autobot are allied with the entire planet. not just one nation.

Politically, though leader of the Autobots, Prime always seemed more like an Anarchist than anything else simply because of the premium he placed on both freedom (the real kind) and the value of every individual life over the demands of the State. As a result, I doubt the US government would have much use for an alliance with the autobots. It would last until Halliburton was able to come to a mutual understanding with Megatron about exchanging oil reserves (for conversion to precious, precious energon) for some kind of doomsday weapon. (For to protect national interests overseas.)

But it's your Prime. Do what you want. I'll have no complaints if you set Galaxy Convoy next to him holding a Canadian Flag with a banner that says "Galaxy Convoy: Protecting beer, weed, and socialized health care (but even the Matrix couldn't do jack about the hockey season.)"

It'syour prime, MM. Display it how you want. If you think Prime fits with America, go for it. Like Madhammer said, he does personify what America stands for, so it does make some logical sense. As for some of the people who don't like your idea, don't worry about them. Most of them will never see your prime anyway.

Thanks Shadow. I was starting to think it was a bad idea. Not to mention, and my brother pointed this out to me, it's the least I could do since it's my mom who ordered it for me, and she's a HUGE patriot. I swear, the master bedroom has framed pics of Lincoln and the Gettysberg Address, and Gen. Robert E. Lee with the terms of surrender at the end of the Civil War. She also has American flag styled bedding, curtains....need I go on.

Well, why didn't you say so? If a flag in Optimus' right hand will win you brownie points with your mother, which will in turn make her more susceptible to buying you more transformers, it is not only your obligation, but your duty to do so. This goes beyond nationalism.

And big ups to your mom for having a picture of the meeting at Appomattox on her wall. There sure isn't a lot of respect for history these days, and it's good for her to have an omnipresent reminder of what happens when both sides disagree enough to start shooting at one another. It already did. Yesterday she ordered Galaxy Convoy from JRS Toyworld, so it should be here on Monday, and MP Prime on Tuesday.

Yeah, but that's the canuck flag. I'm going American. Neighbors, but different countries none the less. But don't think I hate or I'm anti-Canada. My family has some good family friends in Toronto, and I ususally spend a weekend of my summer vacations in Niagara Falls.
