When RiD Scourge came out, to me it didnt fit him, wish he was named Motormaster/Mega Octane. then japan started doing black prime repaints as Scourge for their Nemesis Prime, and the black Prime kit for Super Link .

i think Scourge fit him perfectly imo.

I really liked the name Black Convoy, I think that fits him better than scourge.

Since RID may every OP repaint be known as Scourge.

I'm not too "hip" on Scourge being the 'Evil Prime'...I think Nemesis Prime is just awesome. I always called RID Scourge Dark Convoy and will forever call him that.

Scourge is a great name for a Decepticon, but actually Nemesis Prime is the best name for the Anti-Prime.

The name scourge is cool for the anti-prime besides I like Nemesis Prime as well for the name.

If the suffix "Prime" means leader, then anything Nemesis Prime better be leader of the Decepticons.

I like the name Scourge for the RiD character and I like Nemesis Prime for the universe character.

When I think of Scourge I don't even think of the G-1 version anymore. For me Scourge is now the RiD character.

nemesis prime fits whole whole anti-prime more IMO but RiD scurge was and still is one of the best tf's every IMO

Nemesis Prime is better for the evil Optimus Prime, but Scourge is better for Flame Convoy since he's a dragon, and a dragon could be said to be a scourge.

same here. When Scourge is mentioned, i think of the black 'prime' with a red sword before thinking of the G1 blue spaceship

Like most, Nemisis Prime is good for any anti-Prime, but Scourge does fit well for flame convoy. I think the name Scourge should be associated with a dragon than a tanker truck. But for now, when I hear Scourge, it'll be the RID tanker, and after that it'll probably be both that and the dragon from Cybertron.

While we're on the subject of Scourge, is anyone as pissed off as I am that they decided to make the next Masterpiece Magnus instead of Scourge? All they'd need to do is take out the Axe and make a properly sized sword for him. That might make owning him as well as MP Prime more worth it than friggin' Magnus.

If I recall correctly, the things referred to as the 'great scourges' of the modern era have all been narcotics. I know that has nothing to do with the character or the basic definition of the word scourge, but it still makes me think of a character named Scourge as some kind of pusher.

I think they should call him "The Evil Black Optimus Prime Re-Paint." That just sounds like he's up to no good.

There should also be some mention of cyan in there somewhere. Can't leave out the cyan.

Okay, serious time: "Scourge" sucks if it's going to be an "evil Prime." "Nemesis Prime" sounds way better and sounds kinda the same as "Optimus Prime" too, which is cool.

To me, Scourge will always be a baby blue hovercraft that transforms into a fu-manchu-having, trenchcoat-wearing robot with long pink fingernails.

The "evil" adjectives suggested he is still a Optimus prime but he is evil and bad.

I think next Hell Prime/Convoy, Reverse Prime/Convoy, Death Prime/Convoy, Chaos Convoy/Prime, Abyss Convoy/Prime.

Since I didn't really grow up on G1 (I was only born in 1987 - three years after G1 started) reading the name Scourge will always bring to mind the black repaint of Laser Rod Optimus Prime from RiD. Since that is the case I have no problem with black Prime repaints being called Scourge.

Since I know someone on TFD called Nemesis Prime (Completely unafilliated with the Armada or Universe Nemesis Primes), whenever I hear that name I think of him rather than a black Prime repaint, but that's just me.

However I do believe that Nemesis Prime is a very fitting name for a black repint that is supposed to be an anti-Prime. Since RiD Scourge wasn't so much an anti-Prime, rather a Decepticon that had some of Prime's spark in him, it is better that they called him Scourge. However, the Armada & Universe black Primes are supposed to be anti-Primes and thus the name Nemesis Prime is appropriate.

To sum up, if the figure is a kind of dark Prime/Convoy than Scourge is a more fitting name. (EG: RiD Scourge & Cybertron Scourge) If the figure is more of a polar opposite to Prime, then the name Nemesis Prime is more approriate. (EG: Armada Nemesis Prime & Universe Nemesis Prime)

Every evil prime should be Jafconnimus Prime from now on. The exsisting ones should be renamed.

the name nemisis prime conjurs. congurs.... it creates a more image of evil, it gives the impression of an anti-prime with a matrix of darkness. scourge is a sweep and always shall be to me and laser prime shall stay as he was when i first got him. leader of the autobots. if in future they make a new nemisis prime it would be good to see him have a mold to himself. not a repaint

With the toys, in my own storyline, I've got Universe Nemesis Prime running around with the Energon Saber. They showed up from an accident involving the Spacebridge, from another dimension where everything is backwards. (Now I just need a good Megatron)
I'm just throwing that in to say I agree with the idea of him being an evil Prime with a Dark Matrix. (And the Energon Saber. That mammoth looks sweet with those lil' jets)

For me, I always think of Fu Manchu-bot whenever I hear "Scourge." All the pro-Nemesis Convoy posters are pretty much right--it just sounds better.

man... I wish they would release an updated G1 Scourge. He was always my favorite TF, but the original one is so dated now, it just looks like a bar of soap (in either mode).

But he doesn't work very well as a bar of soap.

I grew up with G1 too, but now I consider every black Prime to be Scourge. Why? Probably because I didn't give much attention to the G1 Scourge. Why? Because all the sweeps looked alike to me and I never really felt he was a good stand alone character.

But RID Scourge was a great stand alone character (though the cartoon wasn't great).

Plus, the name Nemesis Prime always seemed forced to me. As if he defined himself by using the name of his enemy. A villain would never use the hero's name within his own. A villain wants to be remembered as himself, not just being the opposite of the hero.

But to make a long story short, I think all black Prime repaints should be called Massdestruction. (with all royalty checks going directly to me)
