I tried hating this alt like all the rest of you guys do.......but.....after buying him(february 9th), I must say, he is my second favorite alternator out there, and I prefer him over Tracks. So to all those who oppose of the "Kitty-vette", I have but one thing to say, don't knock it 'till you try it.
On a side note, I've already taken the liberty of making the Tracks windshield mod to him, and here are some pics.(not the best, but hey.)

I think the head is*as someone earlier stated* unique. I don't feel it out of place in the least. I mean, sure, it would have been nice to see with an alt. soundwave as a add-on, but, I can't complain at all with this mode. Tracks does leave something to be desired, but this just makes the mold feel complete. Cat or not, corvettes rule, and so does the figure.

Well, I think that the windshield mod does wonders as far as leg articulation goes. Frees up teh figure. Plus it helps that this one*if you are trying to do that pose with a tracks* is a convertible, whereas Tracks is hard top, and thus has some extra stuff to get in the way of movement. Still though, even on tracks, the mod makes the figure leaps and bounds better.
Madhammer&AutobotMaximal, differant strokes for differant folks. I liked it, and that is all that matters to me. You do realize you still have the option if you really hate him to put him in the box, and return him.

but to madhammer's point. it it robs us as comsumers of the power of demand. If ravage really sucked as bad as the people on this board claim, he should become a shelf warmer, he wont (unless they change the distrution cycle to send him out like smokes) If we dont like a toy or a direction, we shouldnt buy it
or otherwise its just a matter of time before we get an alt with a buzzard head, or a rhino head

Well, then you are talking about what kind of fan a person is. As I have stated before, I like all of my Transformers in one way or another. For instance, I even like certain aspects of Injector and he's totally crap. I collect Transformers because that's what I like. I don't do it for anyone else. It's for me. If you want to skip the stuff you don't like, you also have that right. I don't see the point of getting upset at someone else, just for the simple fact that they bought a Transforming robot toy that isn't necessarily their favorite ever to be released. Why not concentrate on the others-you know, the ones that hate every bot that they can't afford? I work hard for my money and if I want to spend it on something that I don't necessarily love, it's my choice to do so.

I never had a problem with the kitty head and I like it even better now that I have it. I realized a long time ago that no matter how good a transformer may be, there will always be people who will call it crap. It comes with the territory.
The kitty head is something different and I think it's a nice change from the same ol' same ol'. He looks like one mean badass decepticon to me!
The only thing I would have changed would have been to change the arm cannons to claws, that would have made him absolutely perfect.

A little off topic but related to the mold.
Any idea why the Corvette mold is loaded with weoponry while no others were? Every alt so far has been equiped with just a hand gun. Tracks, Ravage, and possibly Swerve have a hand gun, shoulder rockets and dual arm cannons on both arms. Hopefully we'll see more heavily armed alts in the future.
Oh, and claws instead of the arm cannons woulda been a nice addition to Ravage. Wonder if any company like A3U would consider building replacements like they did with the Prime stacks. Done in anodized red of coarse.

The thing that bugs me the most is not that people like Ravage, or that they like him better, it's that they have to knock Tracks to say how great Ravage is. Tracks is my favorite Alt., pure and simple. Ravage is okay, but I won't be buying him because twenty bucks is a lot to spend on "okay" (this is the same reason that I passed on swindle, the first new Alt. I've seen on the shelves in months).
Then again, it's all a matter of personal preference. If we all thought alike it would be a boring fandom.

Edit: Because I'm Outback about punctuation.

The vett being a black convertable is cool and the red is a good contrast in bot mode but I'll only buy this Decep if there is no way I am able to aquire Tracks. For me personally it's not a matter of liking/hating something but what my budget allows. Right now I have Silverstreak and since Smokescreen is identical I probably won't bother with him.

I just opened Ravage and I think he's one of the best Alternators out there. What works for him is his head. Without a beast head, this figure wouldn't have worked. With it, and the color scheme (as seen in the pics on page 1), this figure works! Windcharger is another great figure.
What I don't like is Shockwave. Only because he's off color. He's blue when he should be purple. Hasbro screwed up there. But at least they kept the original look for the head.

Dang AM...that statement rocks...no offense to who it was towards...
Anyhoo...IF I ever see him I'll make my decision on him then and there...but as of right now I go with "the no". But we'll see if I ever find him. I just got Swindle tonight, the first and only sighting of him I've had. I also saw Grimlock but my friend got him. No worries though, cause if it wasn't for this good friend I'd never found Swindle probably. This was the first and only sighting of Big Grim as well.
Alternators are very hard to find anywhere around where I live, some Wal-Marts even stopped carrying them completely after all the shelf-warming Silverstreak and Sideswipe did around here.

Wow look what my little comment started.

Here's where I'm coming from on this:
I used to be a huge Star Wars collector. Huge. I bought everything I could find that was a Star Wars figure or spaceship or whatever. I found myself wanting to get things that I wasn't excited about because it was Star Wars and I didn't have it, and I had to have it because it was Star Wars. After stepping back from this for a moment, I realized that what I had was not a collection but an obsession. And it was unhealthy. IMO anytime - ANYTIME - you intentionally plunk down cash for something that you don't like, you have crossed the line. Hobbies are cool and all (heck, that's why we're all here), but shouldn't our collections reflect what is important to us on some level, rather than a completist desire to have everything for whatever reason? My gut tells me that a lot of us simply have no self-control when it comes to TFs.
AutobotMaximal
Feb 15 2005, 06:06 AM
Well, that's your view. IMO, when I buy something that I don't necessarily like, I have it later, down the road when/if I change my mind and decide I like it. Things grow on people and it's stupid to pay two or three times the amount for something later, that I could have bought the first time if I wouldn't have been clouded by my first reaction to it. BW Mutants are a perfect example for me. If I had bought them when I saw them, I could have saved myself some money. The BM Deployers are another set that I passed up and only later decided that I wanted them. I don't pass anything up anymore. It saves me time and money later. You see it your way. I see it mine. In the end, it's still my money and you can call me "crazy", but it won't change how I spend it. I just feel fortunate that I have it to spend on what I want. Besides, what is money? You can't take it with you when you die. Nor can you take a collection with you when you die, so I don't see much of a difference. It makes me happy while I'm here.
Lord Madhammer
Feb 15 2005, 07:29 AM
Yeah that's cool. I've bought stuff before that I didn't like so much at first, and ended up liking a lot (BM Rattrap and BW Silverbolt being two examples - both of those were in lots). I've also *not* bought stuff that I didn't like and then kicked myself later b/c I changed my mind (Alt Tracks, I'm looking at you). So I understand where you're coming from.

If they had replaced his arm guns with claws, or done something different with his hands, or done *anything* else to make him NOT look like a guy in a cat mask, I would have probably liked him a lot more. As it is though, he *does* just look like a guy in a cat mask.
