says they do in the description. No way anyone would pay a hundred dollars for a non-transforming Voltron.
That thing is crazy ugly though, and I like Voltron.

I am actually glad it is getting delayed for 2 reasons:
-I can spend some money on BT*
-Toynami will hopefully put out a quality product (we all know about the MPC Robotech issues).
I will get Voltron not matter what the price. 5 lions that combine into one asskicking robot for 150? Done deal.
I have heard some people say this Voltron looks horrible. But they never say if it is in comparion to the blocky original or the cartoon (maybe not anime correct?). I like both the old version and this version, but this new version is like getting a 20th Prime when you already have G1 Prime.

Voltron looks like he's been on the South Beach diet for a while. Good for him! I have the late 90's re-release on a shelf. I like the looks of this "MP" Voltron, but I can't see parting with the money for it.
Expect a Masterpiece version of this reply later.

Looks fantastic, and I'm glad they're taking the time to fix this up, but $150.00 would get me so many TFs for my collection, or fix up my computer, etc.
I have one collectible I can afford and I have my life, to open up another section of it's too costly at the moment.

I have had this guy pre-ordered since last October. That’s almost a year. It's hard to fain interest in him any longer since I have forgotten all about him.
One day I am going to be real surprised when a package comes to my home and I find MP Voltron inside.
I have a growing collection of robot cats so he will go quite nicely along with BW Cheetor, Shadow Panther, Tigerton, Alt. Ravage, Star GaoGaiGar and Masterpiece Dancouga’s feet. Add to that Razorclaw if I ever get the Predaking reissue.

I have it on preorder as well.
BTW; if you guys order anything like this or macross, go to valkyrie-exchange. This guy is the bomb! I ordered decals from him, and when the post office lost them, he sent me a NEW set!!! (Talk about customer service!!)It's also the place I rodered MP convoy from.

Bah! With Toynami's history of shoddy workmanship and poor QC I'm skipping this Voltron (despite Voltron being one of my all-time favorite characters). Maybe I'll pick one up if the reviews are good. Been burned once with the VFs already...

BTW, the release date has been pushed back to december, due to retooling on the prototype to improve the product.

Yeah. they have better pics of it at toynami.com. The only thing that gets me is the face on it, though. Why is it in the cartoon his face was silver with a blue headband, but the toy is silver on most of the lower face, with a blue neck and a red headband? Curiosity.

So do you think we will see masterpiece Voltron this month (schedualed for late October) or will he again be "postponed"?
I don't know if I can wait much longer for this guy. I have been waiting for sooooo long (over a year).

They say he is schedualed for the end of this month (the 26th I believe) but you know we have heard that before

I really hope he does not get postponed again.

Forgot to add image for those who have not seen him yet

Yeah right

The Masterpiece version is a 100% cartoon accurate version, transforms perfectly, and if I'm not mistaken, it is also die cast, just like the original. Which 80's version are you saying is better than that... the die cast one that got loose joints on the lion legs so quickly that they wouldn't even stand up in lion mode, or the plastic ones with the pull back and go motors, whose tails on the red and green lions would break off in the black lion so you couldn't combine Voltron at all, or are you talking about the riddiculously abnormal big plastic one that the figures fit into, with the huge cockpits on the lion's backs, and the solid, one piece lion legs that were completely unposeable, so they looked wierd in Voltron mode, and made the lions look like they were on tip toes in lion modes? Or, perhaps you mean the little rubber one that could be taken apart into the five lions, but none of them transformed at all? That one was really cool. Much better than this Masterpiece...
Drewbie

Isn't he selling for $150 USD or so? I thought I heard that before.
and what kind of leg articulation does he have? the elbows look good enough, but the legs look like they may be stuck in that action pose.
Jasonball Z
Oct 2 2005, 05:51 PM
Not sure on the articulation... there was a link to a site that had more pics a while back... might help if you could find it.
