OK, so they've made mini-skirts and bikinis for 12 yr. olds but get ready to be shocked and potentionaly disturbed. I warn you, what you are about to hear(well, read..) is TRUE
but just...plain...WRONG!!



It started like any other day: breakfast, college math, Target and/or Wal-mart,home. at about 11:38 am or so today,after my algebra class at the college, I went to the local Target in search of the energon combiners I'm missing(they get stuff earlier than Wal-mart). Now, I'm not sure how other Targets are layed out, but the toy section in this one is in the oposite corner (diagonly) of where you enter the store. Everyone might take a different route to the back but I take the most direct route I could think of:a strait line to the toy department.that takes me through(in order) the girl clothing, kitchen supplies,sporting goods, then Toy D.P. I don't have too many problems with this route except that it takes me right through the heart of the girl clothing D.P. (you can imagine why...)anyway, on my way through the swimsuit sub-section, I noticed a neon sky-blue two piece (BRACE YOURSELVES!!!...) THONG sized for a 12 Yr old.( ) BUT THATS NOT ALL!!! My route also takes me through the womens laugere(CAN'T SPELL DAMUT!!)(don't ask)and (this is where it gets REALY perverted) I saw a set (don't know what else to call it) ALSO sized for tweens! . I nearly gaged right there in the store! Worst thing is, there were several small girls eyeing it when I passed by. Thong too. I tell 'ya , WRONG, WRONG,WRONG,WRONG,WRONG!!! Never taking that route again! (can only hope for no pint sized You-Know-Whats in the future.) You may puke now...

The whole of womens clothing is atrocious. My girlfriend can't find pants long enough for her legs. SHe ends up buying guys jeans sometimes. However, if I were 12 and saw a girl wearing one of those, it probably wouldn't have bothered me, honestly. Oh COME ON, neither would it have you, either.

But seriously folks. The only problem that I would have with the bikini is not really the bikini itself, but the guys who figure that if a woman (or in this case, girl) is showing a little skin, the woman (or in this case, girl) is a hyperslut.

We all know that isn't true, but there are guys like that around.

First,wildling, you shouldn't even be talking. You live in CANADA not florida like me. we're a bunch of "exposion" freaksdown here. canadians shouldn't and couldn't know as much about showin' skin as we do.

Second, as much as I like to see a little tush, I don't like to see a "Little" tush. I mean if you live in ,like ,near Miami beach or in palm beach, I wouldn't have as mush as a problem with it. It's only fitting. But this was in a inland town not a seaside. It's just not appropiate!

So it's an inland town. Nobody has a pool? Suntanning doesn't exist? No lakes nearby? How about an indoor pool? The swim team has to train somewhere ...

Where did you live? It CAN make a difference in weather patterns. For example, right now in Toronto it's -4 Celsius (and no, I'm not converting to Fahrenheit ), but in Vancouver it's plus 9 celsius. Kinda different huh? But in Yellowknife it's minus 22.

But we're not here to debate weather. We're here to express our opinion on your story about finding a thong bikini and lingerie set sized for a 12 year-old.

I stand by my opinion.

11 and 12 year olds in thong swimsuits and lingerie is ridiculous, and even at 11 or 12 myself, I wouldn't have thought they looked hot, I'd have thought they looked funny.

Back then "hotness" in girls our age was all in the face...at least with my groups of friends. Women...adult women...were hot in lingerie and swimsuits, though.

It is the parents respocibility...PERIOD.

Something like that is like a right of passage for a girl turning 16 or 17....(if I had a daughter it would be 18) but 11 or 12.

Advertisers are trying to get kids to grow up really really really fast so that they can sell more products...get a wider age range in thier target group.

Parents who buy the stuff for the kids and or allow it them to have it are basicly sheep to the slaughter!

If the girls eyeing this stuff thats one thing but if a parent is buying it for them (you see them reach for it for their 11 year old) that says alot about the parent.

Now One way to look at this is that in the cycle of things kids are growing up real fast. it is like we are slowing going back to the middle ages where a 14 year old girl would be commenly and legaly married and with child.

The sexualization of children is a trend that I’m frankly getting sick of. Any parent that would let their child roam around in provocative clothes that could be pushing some perverts joy buttons has some screws loose. Too many things can happen too quickly anymore for you to tempt fate like that. It’s simply not wise.

It's funny because as children seem to "grow up" faster through the media and consumerism, they are staying "childish" longer due to our cultural "growing up" system of attaining basically worthless college degrees and being financially stifled and forced to live with their parents for longer and longer. Maturing from infant to indpendent adult seems to be an extending stage of life.

While you're right, I don't think anybody, child or adult, would be roaming around in Lingerie (except under their clothes), and a thong swimsuit would be worn at the beach, or pool, where plenty of people of all ages (pre-12-yr-olds to post-90-yr-olds) are already wearing extremely revealing clothing.

I don't think I've seen( and hope not to see)old geezers in thongs and(thankfuly)never in lingerie.
