You guys want to see what they do with their Mugenbines in Japan check out these sites.
On the first site I'm listed as Mr. Gee. Go thru each of the links on this site , its a pretty amazing collection of what people have posted on the second site I'm listing. The second is a BBS which alot of people post their creations on.

Hi, Mr. Gee! wave.gif

Glad to finally talk to someone from the Prominence img board. It's what really got me into Mugenbine. smiletf.gif

Just curious, what's the proper name for the img board? I've always referred to it as Prominence since it was in the title bar.

Hi Aoi,
Prominence is how I always list it. It was originally going to be a "toy" BBS. Then Bandai and Plex, the designers of the series, put out advertising incentive dollars to anyone who would put together a "Mugenbine BBS or website". So the site is partially (if not completely) supported by the designers themselves.
They are no longer offering the program to new sites. I checked.
Its so nice to meet someone from there as well. wave.gif
UncleJoe420
Hey Cosmo - Nice Hercules Turbo 'bot!! Wonder how big that beaut is!! laughlol.gif: You've certainly got anything i can build beat, that's for sure!! Was also wondering how many sets you have in total..

Now, if only we could invite more folks from Prominence to come visit here, and vice versa!!
Nobody
I actually have two or more of each toy. Mugenbine and Machine Robo Rescue!
I have at last count 9 AirLeons!
I like balance in my designs. The Japanese fans HATE that! I am always getting berated for my designs. They like them, they just don't like 'em being so symmetrical!
To answer your next question: Yes, I have a huge disposable income! So. its easy to blow a ton of money on these things, they're like an addiction!
Check out some of these combos on this site! They are done using only the Machine Robo Rescue toys! I swear the guy who did these is a genuis, I would never have thought of these combinations!

Enjoy!
Keep building and posting!
UncleJoe420
Did try and post my Megalon homage on there yesterday, but thatnx to my terrible grasp of Japanese / Kanji, I don't think it worked.. oh well.. laughlol.gif:

EDIT: Crikey - it DID work!!! Sweet!! biggrintf.gif
Taaron
Hey guys, was poking around Amenbo.

The Build Gattai/new sets, Speed Eagle and Powerful(?) Tyranno are listed as being released in Late Dec.

The other guys are listed for release in Feb. and March.

Aoi
UncleJoe420
Hopefully HLJ.com will have the Tyranno and Eagle sets listed soon, as I so want to grab them!! laughlol.gif
Nobody
I have been ordering from Amenbo for years. I've found their service to be far faster and cheaper than Hobby Link Japan. Plus you can get the Mugenbine candy toys through them. Something I've not seen on HLJ! For the Toys R Us Japan exclusive sets, try Fan2Fan. He can usually get the special sets. Avoid Toys N Joys at all costs they stink!
Nobody
Have you guys tried "KEYBOTS" yet? They are for little kids, but they combine like Mugenbines and you can make some pretty neat stuff! Here I'll post a picture of one of my creations.
UncleJoe420
Funny you shoudl mention about those Keybots things, a few months ago I was gonna order a couple of sets and see how i got on with them. But I may have to wait until after Xmas when the postal service here is a bit better, as well as I'm still sorting out the stuff that's already taking over my room.

PS. thanx for the comments on my pix at Prominence, Cosmo!! biggrintf.gif
UncleJoe420
I would probably order from Amenbo, if both me and my pc could understand Japanese - you should see what my computer displays of that site!! laughlol.gif

Think I'll stick with HLJ, BBTS and JRS for now - unless I can figure out how to translate Amenbo.com!!
Taaron
Here y'go, UncleJoe. English Amenbo site; http://www.amenbo.com/toj.html

I've been looking into getting the Keybots too. I'm thinking about...RAISHANGMAOH.

Aoi
UncleJoe420
Thanx for the assist, Aoi!! Will keep an eye on Amenbo from now on! biggrintf.gif Once I get my room sorted, i may have to order a couple of Keybots sets - they look pretty cool. Wonder if my niece would like them (she likes my Transformers enough!!)

Hey Guys, I am back from vacation and I want to welcome Mr. Gee/Cosmo773 to this thread. I knew of Mr. Gee's/Cosmo773's work before I found this thread and I have always liked the balance of his designs. I find it interesting that the Japanese don't seem to like symmetry in their robot designs but many of their non Mugenbine robots are symmetrical. Is it because you have 2 of the same set? (I always joking said to myself that you were "cheating" by having 2 of the same figure).

I have another question to Cosmo773. Was the Juuki Gattai Mugen Builder set really popular? It is the only "vintage" set I have had a hard time finding online. I have only seen it twice on Rinkya and both were part of massive collections with too many figures I already have. Plus Rinkya is pretty expensive.

I love Amenbo. I buy lots of Mugenbine and Micronauts from this store. I only buy from HLJ if I am desperate.
UncleJoe420
I'm still after a Mugen Builder and a Zord Elephant, if anyone's got any spares.. laughlol.gif

At least I know my Power Nose will be on it's way soon from HLJ.com. The main reason I haven't tried Amenbo is i've heard a few horror stories about them. I have checked out their site, but they don't have any of the sets I need.. icon_sad.gif
Nobody
Overbite,
From what I know the Mugen Police and Mugen Fire sets didn't sell well so Bandai cut back on production of the Mugen Builder and Mugen Hercules sets. They are now the rarest of the sets to get, so if you see them I say Grab 'em while you can! This "depression" in toy sales that happened this last spring/summer, is what is currently hitting the US this holiday season with a toy shortage on our shelves.
On a different note did you guys check out that mega gattai on Prominence? That is one incredible piece of work! I should try something that big sometime, I just don't think I have the patience! redface2tf.gif
UncleJoe420
Once my Power Nose turns up, I'll only need 3 more sets, plus the Mugen Builder, to have one set for every letter of the alphabet!!

Just hope my stuff on back-order arrives soon. If not, it leaves me with some money for the new sets!!
Nobody
Anyone interested in "KeyBots", check out this site: http://keytoy.web.fc2.com/
Clic to enter then clic on the links on the right side of the page for some cool combinations!
UncleJoe420
Thanx for the link, Cosmo / Mr Gee - will check that site out!! Am tempted to get some sets from HLJ, since they have a sale on a few of the sets (as little as £3!!); these things would make great "bad guys" for my Mugenbine 'bots!!
Taaron
That does sound like a fun idea, UncleJoe.

Hey guys...when it comes to shipping from Amenbo, should I just get the Mugen Emperor Vs Death Emperor set, since it'd be cheaper or hold off and get it and Energy Rhinos, Great Rex, Assault Leon?

Got some cool news though. I'm about to start a new job, so I'll be able to get things marked off my Mugen-wishlist quicker! thumbsup1.gif

Aoi
majin tahu
I'm looking to pick up a couple of the older mugenbine sets.
I have some hasbro reissues for trade, plus some SPD/Dino thunder megazords.
I'm really looking for any of the first 5 sets, preferable the green gorilla, and the orange rhino.
Taaron
I'd check eBay, MajinTahu.

I just did a quick search and there's quite a few of the earlier ones selling with a Buy It Now price of $5 and some change. (and then $6 for shipping.)

I'd kinda/sorta recommend Xenobine, but mine broke a few days ago. thumbsdown.gif

Aoi
majin tahu
I already gots 06 and 07.
I wants 01 - 05.
I really want to do it with trades, cuz I have toys, but no money.
UncleJoe420
Sorry to hear your Xenonbine has bit the big one, Aoi - I think i did spot a few sets on ebay, including a Xenonbine!!

Just got my shipping notice for my Power Nose - so that should turn up (hopefully) the end of this week biggrintf.gif
Taaron
Let's hope when your Power Nose turns up, it won't be in an act of snootiness. optimuslaugh2.gif

Yeah, sucks about Xenobine..but I was expecting it, since the day I got him, to happen. What with them using those little clips instead of the standard Peg and Socket set up.

Aoi
UncleJoe420
Me being snooty? Surely not? laughlol.gif: Anyway, I know to a certain extent what you mean about Xenonbine - the large folding parts with the wheels attached do come apart rather easily - not sure if that was deliberate or not..
Overbite
So far the only problems I've encountered are on my Machpetra, Junkstag & Wanrikigama—all three have had the tips of a peg break off. Foutunately it has only been on a peg that isn't used in any of the "standard" modes.

What broke on Xenobine Aoi?

Oh and majin tahu, there always seems to be #'s 2-4 for sale on eBay so I wouldn't worry about it them too much. #01 is a bit harder with #5 being much harder to find. Buy 2-4 with X-Mas money biggrintf.gif
Taaron
Part of the little prongs that kept the swiveling piece(i.e. the scorpions claws) in place. I suppose I could glue it back in place, and not be able to disassemble the two pieces anymore.

Aoi
UncleJoe420
Funny you should mention about a broken peg on Wanrikiguma - mine turned up with a peg end missing!! I guess I could always order another Wanrikiguma, at a pinch..
Overbite
I guess it is a good thing that I accidentally ordered an extra Xenobine. (The site I ordered from spelled it with a "Z" so I thought it was a "Zord Elephant". This was when I first started collecting Mugenbines and wasn't very knowledgable with the line).

oh and Uncle Joe, which peg was missing? That may have what happened to my Wanrikiguma since I have the tops to the other two broken pegs. I'm missing the peg on the lower right side of the right leg.
UncleJoe420
If I remember right, it was the peg on the "ankle" (bottom side) of the left leg. Since it is a relatively new set, I guess I could order another one without having to worry about stock / supply problems..

I might do that. but, I'm still looking to get them for trade, too. and any others after #7, too. I love these things so much.
UncleJoe420
True, Majin Tahu - these things are pretty addictive!! Didn't someone post that these things are like crack? laughlol.gif If i remember right, I likened them to a cross between TFs and Lego - still think that is a very accurate description!!
Overbite
It would be more accurate to say:

Transformers + Legos + Crack = Mugenbine

Which ones are you missing to complete your alphabet/ It is Z, V, and _ right?
gerwalk25_strike
I just happen to buy four of the Mugenbines on eBay (Heat Tricera, Xenobine, Kuwagata Junkstag and Fang Tiger). These remind me of the old Robolinks/Blockman sets that I once owned.

I'm missing Fang Tiger, Victory Leon, Zord Elephant, and Juuki Gattai Mugen Builder. Am pretty sure the Zord Elephant and possibly the Mugen Builder have been discontinued, and it wouldn't surprise me if the Fang Tiger and Victory Leon have gone the same way.. rumblecry.gif

Yup, they are pretty much discontinued. HLJ might be able to find them but I think most stores will be out of them. eBay buddy,eBay.
UncleJoe420
I will probably wait till i get an official word from HLJ about them, but if they are discontinued, that'll leave me with some dosh (money) to get the new sets that will be coming out pretty soon!!!

Guess there's an upside to everything.. laughlol.gif And I will probably be keeping an eye on ebay hehe

If you guys are having a hard time finding some Mugenbines, contact the guys at Fan2Fan. http://www.fantofan.jp/
I use them to get all the Toys R Us repaints and the Candy Toys. They're really helpful. thumbsup1.gif
UncleJoe420
Just got an email frm HLJ today, saying that the Fang Tiger has been discontinued icon_sad.gif Guess it's only a matter of time before i get another message about the Victory Leon going the same way..

Guess i better give the folks at FantoFan an email then!! biggrintf.gif

I just got my HLJ order in for Lead Zaurus, Insect Double set (the reason I used them instead of Amenbo) and Turbo Animal Force. I am surprised with how cool Lead Zaurus is. The original, Launcher Zaurus, doesn't have the extra blue cannons so he doesn't have a "big robot" mode like many of the newer figures do. I was hoping they would have retooled the big robot head which Bandai usually does when they release a figure like this (Insect Double set). Since it is time to change up my Mugenbine display, I think I will add him to Power Nose and Wing Bat and see if I can come up with a good gestalt. I'll take pics too.

Cosmo: thanks for the tip. I may just do that. Do you happen to know where fan2fan gets the figures (in brick & morter stores, online like Yahoo Japan, or both)?

Uncle Joe: Sorry to hear about Fangtiger. —see you on eBay tounge1.gif
UncleJoe420
Hey Overbite - you read my mind about looking on ebay!! I also dropped the folks at fantofan.jp a line to see if they can help at all!!

I do have a question to those of you who have ordered stuff from Amenbo in past, as I would like to know what their service is like before I splash out and order anything from them. Thanx in advance for any info you can give me!!

BTW Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!!
Overbite
Amenbo's service is pretty good. I've used them many times without any problems.
majin tahu
I just ordered a few sets from HLJ.
they had quest knight and laser ninja, so they got my money.
anyone willing to trade for the third set in that series?
