Wow. Lots going on in the last few days. As to finding some of the harder to find Mugenbines, what about asking Ryan at FantoFan or the Tokyo Hunter guy to keep an eye out?
Anyhow, I finally watched the Mugenbine ads a few nights ago. Still love the weathered look on the Toy commercials...although, did the CG commercials make any one mad at how much movement they gave the Mugenroids and Gear figures?

Other than the fact that these 2 toys are so freakin' awesome, is there any other reason why they are so hard to find? I don't even see them on Yahoo! Japan Auctions anymore.
While I still love most of the MRM stuff, I simply don't have the storage or display space anymore. That said, I did hold onto a few sets for myself. I'll just stick to the vintage MR stuff...maybe I'll find some more of the Lights & Sound or Winner Robo in the near future.

so i got that offer i seen on ebay with these guys

i have to say after years of putting off getting them im interested to see what these little robots are like in person. im going to say now im not mad on the yellow guy but im really interested in the blue tiger bug and the rhino
Overbite
Oct 29 2007, 12:20 PM
That is a good starter set. The "rhino" is actually a triceratops though. The good thing about HeatTricera is he is one of the sets that comes with a combiner head so you can make a larger robot with a somewhat porportionate head. Build giraffet isn't that bad of a figure IMO. I actually quite like him and Dig Kong (as I've said before) is one of my favorite figures. Plus Air Leon is becoming harder to find now a days so snagging him is pretty good.
Blitz
Oct 29 2007, 12:43 PM
i think junkstag has a 2nd head aswell looking at the photos on IRL
Overbite
Oct 29 2007, 01:11 PM
Yes Junkstag does. the sets with extra combiner heads are:
C- Carryeagle
H - Heatricera
J - Junkstag
K - Kaisercondor
L - Leadsaurus/Launchersaurus
M - Machptera
V - Victory Leon
Z- Zord Elephant
Then Bandai made each set with a third super robot mode which came with a larger head:
G- Gear Tortoise
I - Impact Dile
Q - Questknight
R - Razorninja
S - Saveguman
S - Spitviper
T - Teiouryu
U - Uzumakidori
W - Wanrikiguma
W- Wingbat
Y - Yutenma
Insect Double set is a repaint of Ironbeetle (Interbeetle) and Junkstag (Jabstag). The second head on Jabstag is different than the one on Junkstag. The set also comes with bug parts that gives the gestalt two lower arms and normal fists and a sword made from bugs.

thanks for the info im not so keen on some of the newer ones with the engine but wingbat looks ok
Overbite
Oct 29 2007, 01:40 PM
The good news is I didn't include the ones with the MugenEngine. I also am not too keen on those either but I did get them anyways since the gestalt head sculpts are pretty well done. The only downside is you pretty much have to use the engine core with the gestalt heads. The four sets that have the engine block are:
Arctiger
Guardkong
Sagafalcon
Turbo Animal Force
The rest are like the earlier sets; one Mugenroid and Bine parts. It gets confusing because Bandai teamed up certain figures like Gear Tortoise and Guard Kong together to make "official" vehicle modes to try and get you to buy both sets. The four companion sets to the ones teamed witht he Mugen Engine sets are:
G- Geartortoise
I - Impactdile
S - Spitviper
W- Wingbat
These are IMO some of the best figures (with Geartortoise being my favorite Mugenbine figure of the entire Mugenbine series) the toyline has ever produced and shouldn't be overlooked. Only two figures, Impactdile and Wingbat, have components that use the engine, the other 2 don't.
Q - Questknight
R - Razorninja
S - Saveguman
These guys have a Turboroid instead of a Mugenroid. The are designed a little bit differently and have a bit more articulation than the Mugenroids. Their Bine parts are compatible with all sets. These were the first sets to have 3 combined modes—animal, vehicle, and super robot.
T - Teiouryu
U - Uzumakidori
W - Wanrikiguma
Y - Yutenma
Also known as the "Ride Bines" these figures are the first to have Mugenroids with three combined modes—animal, vehicle and super robot. Also the Mugenroid's vehicle mode was different. Instead of becoming a vehicle with the Bine parts, the parts became a vehicle that the Mugenroid could operate. Teiouryu also comes with a second, larger head so you can combine all of the Ridebines into a super robot.

Yeah..I'd think the Turborods might be a smidge better if you could pop their heads up somehow, instead of having them at shoulders height.
Oh, and a few things about the Mugenbine ads I've been thinking about. There was two clips Quest Knight, and I think..but am not sure, Arctiger did a teleporation sort of thing. Was this actually a "Zone Tenkai"? I started thinking about this when Quest Knight did his, he ended up on a coliseum-styled place. And the other thing I'd like say about these ads...I want to see a MRR/Mugenbine video game. It'd be fun to play!

As for the Mugenbine sets, some do look that way especially if each one is a different color; they look like a Jackson Pollack painting. But if you keep
them color coordinated and with a little planning, you can get some really cool looking robots to display.

Hey guys. I was thinking about the "What Mugenbine figures would you like to see?" and came up with a good set of Candy figures. What about Mugenbine figures styled after various sports? Mugenroid has pieces that can turn it into either a piece of sports equipment(baseball / bat, basketball, boxing ring/glove..) then can be switched into a vehicle or beast form?

Not a bad idea, Aoi - beats my idea of having some combined Juuki Gattai / Buildroid sets. Would be cool to see maybe the odd one or two motorized sets as well; using either a pull-back or small battery motor which would be a similar size to the mugen engine blocks. Or how about another monster set like a base, but with one of each of the Roids (mugenroid, turboroid and buildroid)?
