hey guys =]
Am just about to pay for an order of the last 2 candy toy sets, Chase Dober and Attack condor from FantoFan...was suppoused to pay for these a while ago, but you guys know how it is..Life Happens.
Also, Count me in on hating the little plastic baggies the newer stuff comes in...i love the box idea, just hate the baggies.
And the darn stickers fell off my Yuutenma, so i gotta order a new one...my Obsessive Compulsiveness is killing me in regards to his lost stickers...lol

Long time no see Immy!! I'm with you on the baggies - prefer the tray with dividers myself too!!

Hey, Immy! How've y'been?
I think everyone prefers the trays to the baggies. I'm already wondering how to store my Mugenbine stuff when I get to that point.

Hi Overbite

, all I need are the D, X, M, N, T, U, and Q sets. I think some of them are rare anyway. I got most of them from Rosalinda and an ebayer from Hawaii, (he has a few still listed, if you do a search for "machine robo") both have been great dealers. What's everyone's favorite? Launchersaurus is mine, for both robot and alt mode. But DFD looks mighty nice also.
Well it sounds like you got the majority of the really hard to find ones: (Iron Beetle, Launchersaurus, Evo Rhinoce). Of the ones you are missing, Mach Petra will probably be the hardest to find; D & X the easiest and the rest some where in between. My favorite is Gear Tortoise. He was released last year and is part of the Japanese vowel sets that was released with the Mugen Engine sets. My top 5:
1) Geartortoise
2) Candybine Death Emporer
3) Digkong
4) Yuutenma
5) Wanrikiguma
Stackups, glad to see you're back. Too bad about Yuutenma. How many stickers fell off? Can't you glue them? I just got the last two candy sets and they are really cool. Highly recommend if you don't have any of the previous sets.

Hm. That's a tough question on the favorite mugenbine figures. I guess my favorites are Needle Stego, Fang Tiger and the Leons. Ironbeetle is kinda neat too. I also love the Candybines. (Although, the earliest set. They're the only ones I have so far.)

Hey, that's pretty cool, IDM. Not sure about the Dinosaur head on the left arm. Might look a bit better if it was in it's water cannon mode?
Also, has anyone watched the DVD Vers. of MRR yet? Besides the lack of the clock, what's the difference?

I thought it had better picture and sound quality. I also liked the subtitles they were clearer to read. I own the original Japanese DVD's but haven't watch them in a while, it was great to see the show again. I forgot how much detail was put into it. Watch the backgrounds there is almost always something going on during the robots battles. This looks and plays great on my iPod. I use a program called iSquint to convert the programs, it does a great job! Its available on Apples website as a free download. Alot better than most programs I've used in the past!
Before I forget here are some pictures of "Big Whale" from the KeyBots line.

13 DVD's were made. All 52 episodes! They weren't as expensive as most Japanimation @ US $30 bucks a piece ( 4 episodes each). I got most of them from Amenbo if you can believe it! Extras included all the TV commercials for the toys, creditless opening and ending sequences and the MRR Times printed on the inside of the DVD cover. (Its a newsletter with info about the series) I liked the artwork on the DVD covers I thought they really captured the spirit of the show!

Sep 4 2007, 03:39 AM
Gotta admit, I'm curious about that Big Whale. I can't figure out how it changes by looking at the picture. ^_^;;
Anywho, I might be able to get a pic of my Mugenbine collection soon! I set up one of those $15 four-shelf plastic things the other night and am moving my Mugenbine collection off my desk(Wow. Cleared up so much space.) to the shelf. Later tonight/tomorrow night, I'll be able to start pulling the ones out from storage to display, too.
Also, I was wondering..which set has the instructions to build the Juuki Gattai combo?

Well durnit. I thought it was with Mugenbuilder, too...but I can't find it in MB's box. Oh well, the only thing I'm having problems with so far is placing the 'police shields' on his chest. The pic on the box shows them placed flush against eachother, but I can't find the corresponding holes to do that.

Actually checked the box for Mugenbuilder and it just has instructions to build its normal modes. I have the Bandai Asia version set w/English instructions so I don't know if the Japanese version has it though. Might just have to go from the box...

Nice idea, Overbite - Chase Victory it is!! I was gonna go with something using Justice in the title, but I will use that for the combo of Attack Condor and Chase Dober which I was gonna call Blue Justice (partially in homage to NJPW wrestler Yuji Nagata)

Anyway, thought I should post a few more pix of new combos - here's one made from Quest Knight and Try Wolf, which I'm thinking of calling DracoLycan...

I like how it looks, Unclejoe! Looks like he can hack slash and splash with the best of them.
Also, think I just got my favorite Mugenbine toy. Ran by the Post afterwork and they had Junkstag waiting for me!
Next up on my to-buy list is Heat Triceria and Insect Double Combo...which on that subject..which would ya'll recommend for shipping on IDC?
Aoi
UncleJoe420
Sep 21 2007, 09:23 AM
IDC? Not heard that one. As for which set I'd recommend you get, I'd go for the Heat Tricera first (as that would probably be the harder of the two sets to get hold of_, then go with the Mugen Sector Double set. Hope that little nugget of advice helps...
Taaron
Sep 21 2007, 10:21 AM
Whoops. Mugen Sector Double is their name? I've been calling it IDC for the last couple weeks now.

*checks list* Which is the official name? I made a list of the names from a couple sites, and actually got "MRM SP Mugen Insect Double Set" as the set's name from HLJ.
But anyways, all I need is BigGilaft, Carry Eagle, Evorhinoce, Kaiser Condor, Launcher Zaurus, Mach Ptera to complete 2003/2004/2005 figures.

Not me.

I'll keep an eye out on ebay and any other shops that I might come across, then drop y'a PM if they have it. UJ.
Have y'worked on your mugenbine crab anymore, UJ? I was playing around with Junkstag and figured the pinchers would make great claws, and the piece with the combined robot head looks like it'd make good crab eyes.

I finally got my stuff in from Rosalinda's Trading (only 2 months late). This shipment just had the first 3 candybines and a replacement Assault Leon. So now I have all of them with the exception of the Lucky Draw figures and the store & magazine exclusive figures (which I don't care about; I only wanted the TRU exclusives). So I am all done until Bandai releases the 2008 figures.

Hi Gang!
Did anyone miss me? Let me see a show of hands! Just kidding! I have been SUPER busy and have had no time to even look at my Mugenbines. DFD sat in his box forever! So heres the first pics, Im only using one DFD set in this combo which I call...
DARK MAELSTROM!!!
Click to view attachment Click to view attachment Click to view attachmentI used the head with the swivel horns to make the "Maestrom Dragon Chest Cannon" It can pivot up and down, when not in use.
Hope everyone is doing good. Take care! I'm going to try to make the "Gurren Lagann" (or something close) out of the two DFD sets next. Wish me luck!
UncleJoe420

Great Crab UncleJoe!
As promised, here is a breakdown of Dark Maelstrom. I'll have to do it in several posts as There are a few photos!
Lets start with the arms, legs and torso.

Click to view attachment (Chest Plate " Maelstrom Arrow")

The blue fists on the inside of the arms are crucial to making the arm more stable and poseable at that joint. Everything else is self explanatory. I never noticed till now that the chest plate forms a mini dragon when separated from the body. I'll call it the "Maelstrom Arrow", for no reason what-so-ever! Now on to the next post to see it all put together!
