I was doing the tour recently, and was at the now-depleted toys r us and came accross an Energon Ultra Magnus. I had a gift card from Christmas burning a hole in my pocket, and aside from the basics on the shelf, he was one of only 4 Transformers there, so I bought him. He's still MISB, as I can not decide whether I should keep or sell. I already have two versions of Overload, and he seems to sell for a good chunck on ebay, but then again, his colour scheme is awesome.

So, I need some advice, what would you do, keep or sell?

Keep him, since you can't get him anymore and he's quite rare anyways.

I'd be tempted to open him and stack him on my Armada Prime for display. Then all I'd need is A Jetfire.

But, then again eBay may yield a happy result for you just like it did my extra Omega Sentinel.

Sell one of your Overloads if you need to, Energon Magnus price will jack up even more if you keep him. Right now, he's going minium $45 on Ebay. I have to bust my eye all over the place before I finally got my Energon Magnus from ebay. His rarity and the unique g1 Magnus colors will make Energon Magnus one of the most wanted from the energon line.

Okay, if I were to keep him, should I open him, or since I already have 2 other Overloads, keep him MISB?

Depends, I got him off of ebay without a box and all accessories. I think he is great. I have the original Overload, and the OTFCC Sentinal Maximus and I still prefer Energon Ultra Magnus. He is currently attached to my Armada Powerlink prime and looks awsome.

I say open it, its the best repaint of overload you are gonna get.

im not a big fan of selling, so i say open him, and enjoy him, he looks great

Well, the way I work the whole opening of figs is depends if I one day want to sell these things off. Thats not the case with me. But if you're only keeping him for an investment, I'd say keep him in the box.

I just realized now that the Armada repaints were just for the first wave. STOOPID TRU KEEPS ADVERTISING UM IN THEIR FLYERS! ARGH!

I say sell it. He won't be worth even what you paid for him after energon is done with. Just look at the rare armadas and RIDs. They used to go high on ebay but can barely get retail price now.

But in the end, its up to you.

keep it he is a much improved paint of overload. sell one of those or both. after i got mine i gave my overload away.

Got mine loose and missing the missiles. He's dead sexy out of the box, but he's going to be a pain in the butt to get a double of.

Personally, I wouldn't be able to resist his animal magnetism and I'd cut the tape and go out of my way to may the box stay in good condition so my grubby hands could get ahold of him. Since I already have him boxless.... ^_^

If you sell him now, you risk missing out on the buttload he'll be worth once energon is officially over and Cybertron is in full swing. Bet as you go, you'd be better off holding on to him in the long run either way.

Keep him, he is quite rare and neat and a great addition to any collection.

I say you should keep it but not open it. After a few or after the energon series is over and Galaxy force takes over, fans will most likely pay even more since the series is over.

What are you guys smoking? Worth more when energon is over??? If you want to get the most money out of him, sell him now. Just look up RID Storm Jet or RID 3 headed dog bruticus, both going $50+ during RID but when armada came out, they started not to even reach $10, the orginal value.

When energon is done, ppl will focus on galaxyforce, thus not caring about Energon Magnus. I've seen this too many times. I sold RID Storm Jet, Bruticus, and Megabolt Megatron as a set for $60 together during Armada, while if I sold them during RID, I could get $50+ for each.

Personally I like Overload better. Somehow the red looks better for me. But I say just keep him. I only sold doubles because I cannot sell a toy (even a repaint) I do not yet have.
