we already seen shockblast/wave as an rx8, wheeljack as a mustang, ravage as a car, grimlock loosing his trex-ness and swindle/deadend out of their combiner factions....
what if they designed tf's that are supposed to be one thing but they get molded into other vehicles? for example, an ultramag turned car or made a construction vehicle and called it devastator... or a repaint of the s2000 and they called it blitzwing... would u TFans out there still buy them? would anybody mind if has/tak started doing this to the alt/bt line?
Full Version: g1 alts and binaltech reformatting...
The boring answer: 'I'd have to see 'em first, then decide.'
I could deal with having just one construction vehicle become Devastator, vs. an actual gestalt, but he would have to LOOK like Devastator's combined mode, at least in the face. UM as a car, though, I couldn't hack that. I don't have a problem with making characters into cars who were originally things that couldn't be done in this line (like tapes, tape decks, microscopes, or dinosaurs), but I DO have a problem with making a semi into a car, or a car into Jeep, since it's just illogical.
Hehe, I'm practically over the fact that HasTak has somewhat butchered this line to fit cars into characters I'm not used to seeing in cars. I've accepted this new concept of transformation now.
Yea, Swindle doesn't combine; Dead End is random; Red Mazda is random; Jazz isn't a cool Porsche anymore; Tracks is yellow too; etc...
On the bright side, out so many binaltechs they have out now, there are only a couple characters that I don't like. Most of them are damn cool! I figure, 1 out of 3 or 4 sucks, so it's worth it to me to collect them.
And another fact is I'd buy the whole line now no matter what! They'd have to really screw up for me not to continue to buy their line of binaltechs.
Anyways, back to buying..........

I don't collect them for G1 nostalgia, so I don't care what name goes with who. I buy them for the realistic alt mode and cool transformation. An homage to a character I know is just a bonus.
However, I would be uncomfortable with a name that is unfitting, like a camaro named "Astrotrain"

It still irks me to no end, but I've accepted the fact that there's nothing I can do about it. And really, this is the first line since G1 that I've been excited enough about to want all of them no matter what during it's initial run. And for G1, I was 5-7 years old, so it wasn't within my power to get them all, I was at the mercy of my parent's and Santa Claus. Now that I have my own money, I can buy every one for myself. It helps that they only pop out one every few months, too... good thing I'm not too excited about Energon and Galaxy Force, or I'd be a broke mo-fo right about now.
Shockwave bothers me coulda picked other characters and (WHEN exactly was he on earth? ahem.)
Ravage bothers me a little, because i only know my history from the cartoons and from my own imagination. And ravage just wasnt smart enough to be a car! he's cunning in the way my cats are cunning. A low base cunning in the pursuit of food/energon and scouting a warm bed/autobot HQ, so him being a car is a bother.
Grimlock im fine with. was one of my favorite toys and, in the early days, was cool in the cartoons. And i LOVE the new mustang. I think it suits him. I can handle Grimlocks BT backstory too, it kinda makes sense character wise.
I gotta say, that Jazz might not be a cool porsche anymore, but if porsche wont play ball, its their loss. First i gotta get Grimlock, then White Miester, and a set of custom labels to match his old G1 porsche and that is a PERFECT homage jazz to take his place next to MP Prime

I'de buy it as long as it wasn't crap ... But it would be hard to see devastator , U.M and astrotrain as cars ,... just bite the bullet and make a line for trucks .. we would prob see a lot more decepticons that way too ,, and ravage was smart in beast wars,,, But they should make some of the obvious ones first , you know , Hot rod , bumblebee,* ahem *Galvatron(i know , he's not at all obvious, just wanna see it) .
