I heard the the Resident Evil series (aka 0,1,2,3,4...etc.) will only be on Gamecube while the PS2 will be treated to toher RE titles like Survivor and or Outbreak.

Resident Evil 4 is no longer a gamecube exclusive, though PS2 owners will have to wait almost a year (8 months I think), so if you have a cube I say just get the cube version.

Nope, my ex forced me to sell my Gamecube last year with her lies, still trying to afford to buy a new one. If it's as good as Code Veronica X, then I'm interested.

Tony.
From what I understand RE4 kills Code Veronica X, almost no comparison.

Wouldn't mind if it does, Code Veronica X is the first RE game since RE3 that I've really enjoyed the story of. RE4 sounds and looks good, so I'm up for trying it out whenever I manage to get my Gamecube replacement bought.

I own a PS2 and have been really aspiring to get a Game Cube some day. I so want to play Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes. The only one I've played through so far is The Sons of Liberty, MGS2, and I have yet to play Snake Eater. That game looks to be badass from start to finish.
As far a Resident Evil titles go I've played a bit od Code Veronica, and Outbreak and found the control, and camera scheme adding to most of the frustration of not getting anywhere. For those of you who have playe Resident Evil, an Resident Evil 4 for the game cube how does it compare to the PS2. I'm a big fan of the horror/survival genre and PS2 didn't quite cut it.

RE4 is much more enjoyable too play. They have added free look and aiming, and the controls are alot more responsive. The camera is now locked looking over Leons shoulder, I havent had a single problem with the camera yet. The inventory system is also improved. Generally it just has a faster pace than previous games in the series. Being chased around a small village by a mob of crazy villagers including a guy with a chainsaw who can kill you instantly, is very intense.

I just got my copy a few hrs ago. Totaly different gameplay. I'm kind of getting used to the aiming, you gotta be quick, especially when there are ten zombies or more on you coming from all angles. It's alot easier to die in this game. For some reason I was not able to reload bullets in the inventory screen. I'm not really likeing the 3rd person corner view. I like how your able to purchase items, finally get a rocket launcher in the begining of the game, after the first chapter that is.

i still consider dreamcast one of the greatest systems of all time. unfortunately sega had neither the cash flow, nor 1st party games too support the system. Also the easiest system ever too pirate games for, but still a great system.
Oh, and you reload in RE4 during gameplay, another change. Just push B while aiming. Also, i recommend buying the .223 before the rocket launcher. I also found it easiest at the beginning too cap a villager or two in the knee cap then use the new Kick feature too take a cluster of them down. If timed right you can decapitate 3 villagers at a time with it.
If you think its easy too die then, wait till nightfall....

RE4 is amazing, no doubt about it. But I wouldn't call it GOTY just yet.
Still to come this year: Final Fantasy XII, The new Zelda, Gran Turismo 4 (to the U.S.), Mario 128, Dragon Warrior 8 (to the U.S.) and DMC3.
Too early to pic a winner yet.

Just bought this game...had to stop playing because the music and villager-speak was freaking me out. I absolutely love this game--so far it blows everything else away. Haven't gotten that far yet, but man!
Two question, now:
--What language are the villagers speaking? It sounds like a mix of Italian and Spanish and something else?
--Who else bought the
Gamestop Special Edition of this game? It's a cool tin, a numbered lithograph and a booklet that chronologically details all of the previous RE series from #0 on up to Code Veronica. And it's only $10 extra--not bad.

That is funny as hell!! I saw another good one at penny arcade. My little brother got it recently. I got to play a little while at home. I got to the part right before getting into the church. My little brother was fighting some insect creatures. I really like it and want to play more.
