ok TRU is having a sale for scout size toys that are regularly selling for 10 bucks. it is now selling for 5.89 and applies to all cybertron scout size (smallest size) toys as well as the new classics minicon 3packs. however it doesnt seem to apply for the cybertron minicon 2-packs.
i think its worth buying them if you if you have interest in any of them since i dont think they can get any more cheaper than this (it's almost just as cheap as it can get in hongkong too). i got myself the shadow recon minicon pack (the one with translucent plastic)
there are rumors that voyagers are also on sale but can people confirm this?

At my local TRU, the classic voyagers were on sale. Did not check Cybertron voyagers though.

Cybertron Voyagers are also on sale (based on the fine print on the TRU flyer anyways). Then again, I hardly see anymore voyager sized TFs from the Cybertron line anymore. Oh, and if for some reason someone still doesn't have a Primus here, there's still plenty of him at TRU Sherway for $40.

Zellers at Place Alexis-Nihon: (as of this morning)

there's not much new lately anyways in retail so that's why i haven't been posting lately
and i am not 100% sure i want to go to transformercon.....do dealers usually charge their items on the expensive side?
and on an unrelated note, did anyone here got masterpiece megatron safely without any issues with customs?

well it will be a stupid question to ask anyways it's already modded to the safest standards
anyhow, did anybody went to transformerscon in toronto? the guy who's selling/displaying prototypes are also displaying the movie toys, and i am somewhat not too thrilled with how prime looks for both versions (well, the mistransformation on leader prime's legs didn't help on aesthetics either)...
carbonblue
Apr 28 2007, 09:25 PM
Ah yes, I actually thought the movie primes looked much better in person than in pictures. Was this the same dealer that was had the loose (and incomplete I might add) clear Sonic Convoy giftset for $175CDN, lamuness?
lamuness 2005
Apr 29 2007, 06:01 AM
ya, it's the same guy who had a sonic convoy and a prototype galaxy convoy and master megatron.....and a protoform movie prime for 70 bucks
i dunno, i dont think they look too good in person if you ask me...the grey plastic on voyager prime actually didnt look too bad compared to the photos, but not sure about the head sculpt (even though it has light piping on the eyes it seems). leader prime....well the rear wheels kinda fell off the thighs so that didn't help with asethetics, making the entire leg look very skinny, and both prmes look very back heavy
for the movie toys i currently only ordered ultimate bumblebee from japan, and that's pretty much it. i am holding on movie prime and maybe wait until it goes on sale or clearance
so did you buy anything carbonblue (or anybody else who went)? i bought all 3 of super car-robot brothers (jp version, boxed) MISB for 50 bucks and the first car-robot wildrider MOSC for 10 bucks...and that's pretty much it. since i have megatron coming this way (provided it passed customs and all) i didn't have to pay 150+ for it at the con, and i just placed an order last night at e-hobby for ths-02 black version and clear BT mirage so i didnt buy a ths-02 black version at the con at kool toys....although i think 90 bucks for ths-02 black version is relatively reasonable, all things considered

Yup, I was at Transformerscon too. Met up with carbonblue there.

I didn't get that much myself, though... Some junkers to use as kitbash fodder, Universe Micromaster Superion MOSC ($35), a 12" Marvel Legends Icons Spiderman, the Alternated Masterpiece poster, and the WSTF G2 Slag. Small haul for me, but I sorta expected that either way.
The dealer with the prototypes was funny, because I picked up Protoform Movie Prime at Wal-Mart the day before (on my drive from Montreal to Toronto) for $15.

Back to Masterpiece Megs though; I received mine from HLJ April 24th or so (I was away in Atlanta at the time). Got back on the 26th, and checked it out; no problems with a sealed and unmodified MP Megs. I believe I paid about $108CDN after shipping, which I guess isn't that bad...
On a totally unrelated note: anyone seen any Power Rangers Operation Overdrive Drive Defenders around? It's the transformable gun/sword that they use in the show. I picked one up last week when I was in Atlanta, but I want a second one to kitbash...
It's this, in case you're not sure:

You can ignore the monkey-themed Rubik's Cube...

I got mine from BBTS last week (cost me some $30-and-some USD + a bit for shipping). They're nifty, but transformation is kinda simple, and it's about the size of a deluxe. But they come in this great looking box.

No it's not...I brought my leader OP at $59.99 at Zellers...Some people also mention that it was sold as $59.93 at Wal-mart, but I never seen them. I was shocked that toyrus has it for $69.99, but toyrus are always more expensive anyway. =p

Zellers Atwater now has all the movie toys, but they're not in the "regular" TF section in the toy aisle. They're actually just outside the electronics department. They have everything other than Softimus Prime and Slumblebee, from what I can tell at a glance (deluxes, Leader Prime, Cyber Stompin', Unleashed BB, Fast Action Battlers, Bump & Go, Prime and SS blasters, Prime helmet).
Yup. Zellers has Leader Primes for $59.99. I haven't checked Wal-Marts around here in Montreal, though.
Has anyone in Eastern Canada found the Peter Cullen Voice Changer Prime helmet yet? All the ones I've seen so far are the Gary Chalk one. As much as I like (and sometimes prefer) Chalk as Prime; Movie-Prime is Cullen, so I want that one instead.

Tonnes of movie toys out at TRU Hamilton, blackout, ratchet, Leader prime. Leader prime's probably the best tf I've seen since masterpeice prime. It's pricy but I think it's worth it.
Also available is Megatron statue for 100 dollars, mini prime bust for 50 bucks and reissue G1 soundwave for 39.99. I picked up blackout, Prime and reissue soundwave.
The worse of the bunch is Soundwave. It feels like a knockoff, ravage's cassette mode doesn't align flat. Every peice in the set feels like it's going to break in my hands. I compared it to a knockoff taiwanese microman cassetman, and the knockoff is of better quality (and it's close to 20 yrs old). Terrible.
Also, there's lots of prime voice changer (didn't check if it's the Peter Cullen one or the BW guy).
