you want limbo? try the Kevin Smith Black Cat series..

Didn't Marvel just kill that, along with "Daredevil: Father?"

I already said that about Spider-Man/Black Cat #4, or are you talking about something else?
megagalvatron
I belive at one time there was a plain for a Black Cat comic (I belive thats what Screamer was refferencing) writen by Kevin Smith as well as him taking of Amazing.
Big Grim
yeah, I knew about him taking over on Amazing. He was originally gonna take it on after JMS wrapped up the arc with Lazarus. But since he knew he wouldn't be able to keep up with an ongoing (let alone a flagship title like Amazing) he decided not to follow through with it. And yeah, I remember hearing something about a Black Cat ongoing drawn by Frank Cho.

Now, back on topic looks like issue #6 isn't coming out next week either huffermad.gif
Tantrum
Looks like we'll have to wait until the last week of April or the 1st week of May.  Its not on diamond's list for next week (4/20) either. rumblecry.gif

I don't go by Diamond's list, and that's only a tentative list. It'll be updated next monday. But it's not reliable.
megagalvatron
Well I finally got my AOA trade and I really like it. The X-Man Annual seems out of place though and really hope the hole Nemisis and Holocast thing is explained in a flashback. I know most of the history thanks to the handbook but only have about half of the original issues and don't remmeber what happend. One question though does anyone know when the next trades suppost to come out.
Big Grim
it's out of place because it's when Nate goes back in time after he's been in the Marvel U for a while.  And what do you wanna know about Holocaust/Nemesis, cuz I know a lot about that bit.
megagalvatron
O I got that about Nate going back. The thing that seems out of place is that Magneto seems like he hasn't formed the X-Men yet, but on the other hand Apocalypse has allready started seesing controll so I can't figure out were it goes as in X-Men Cronicels 1 Mags has formed the X-Men and Apocalypse had just seemed to stared his run for power. As for the hole Nemesis and Holocaust (man does it suck that he got killed in Exilse this mounth he was a fav of AOA, and was so hopping to see more of him) thing I'm just wandering do they show in any of the other comics Mag's ripping apart Nemesis and becoming Holocaust or is it just a given.
Big Grim
I don't know, but Holocaust ain't dead. And neither are any of the other Exiles or members of Weapon X that have died over the course of the series.

Oh, and issue #6 isn't coming out next week either  huffermad.gif

So, Sunfire's still there? Yay Exiles Sunfire!

This lends more fuel to the fire that is my friend's "Timebroker=Sinister" theory.
Big Grim
I know who the Timebroker is, and it ain't Sinister.  The AoA and MU Sinister are both accounted for. And Sasquatch didn't die, she got left behind.  That's every character that was thought to have been killed or left behind, and it looks like neither the latter nor the former happened to them.
Big Grim
according to Diamond's shipping list, AoA #6 should be out next week on April 27. I'll believe it when I see it on my LCS' list.
Big Grim
yep, issue #6 is out on April 22.  Bout friggin time, weekly my ass!
Tantrum
Strikeback: that is sasquatch.  She didn't die, but lost her powers and was deemed "useless" by the Timebroker and was removed from the team.

It's unclear if all those previous Exiles members are alive or dead.  As for the Sinister theory, its dead in the water.  They went a different way that I found equally satisfying, and brought back the biggest villan in the history of the Exiles.
Big Grim
ok, so besides Sinister, the Sinister Six was Sauron, Cloak, Dagger, Siryn, Avalanche, and Jean. I'm glad Mags is still alive, I look forward to his release from prison. I hope we get another mini, where Jean and the others search for their other missing teammates (Morph, Wild Child, Exodus, and Iceman).
Starscreamer
not too bad...a lil more on the warm and fuzzy side than I was expecting...(well as warm and fuzzy as seeing wolvie and his girl ventilate Sinister). But a nice follow up. Hopefully this won't be the last we see of this Universe.

Who's the Spider-dude in that pic? I recognize Deadpool and various others from that pic, but not the Spider. Does seem abit like Carnage, though, but he is supposed to have been killed in the New Avangers.

It's the Spider, he was a member of Weapon X. They were another team that the Timebroker threw together with alternate versions of familiar Marvel characters. And just like the rest of those characters, he's supposed to be dead.
Tantrum
The end of AoA was pretty good.  Magneto not dead is a good thing, and having Jean come back to lead works out pretty well.  I agree with you Grim, I hope they do another mini sometime in the near future.  This universe is too good to waste.
splendic
I haven't read through this thread because I want to avoid spoilers, but I bought the first three issues and all I'm getting from it is predictability and lameness. The characters are all falling into their "typical" forms from outside the universe. I got this series because I thought it would be different, but it feels just like any of the other X Books right now.

Maybe I'm just sick of X-Men. thumbsdown.gif

I'll get the rest, but judging by the first half, it could have been much better.
Big Grim
BLASTPHEMY!!!  grimlocklaugh.gif
But you're partially right. This mini wasn't great, but I didn't think it was bad either. I loved it simply because it's AoA and I'm a commercial whore  thumbsup1.gif
megagalvatron
Just figured I would let you all know that volume 2 of Age of Apocalypse has finally been set for NOVEMBER. Holy crap who knows when volume 3's gonna come out. Really think Marvel missteped with this I'm gonna get them but crap I was all excited about this TPB's but man is this border line to long of a wait.
Big Grim
that's cuz they're Afterburners, and AoA is at the bottom of their priority list  redface2tf.gif

Well at lest is coming out. But SHHH we don't want to jinks it and it get canned before it's finished

I swear to God somebody at Marvel will die if I don't get all 4 volumes printed in trade paperback  grimlocklaugh.gif
Big Grim
X-Men: The Complete Age of Apocalypse Epic volume 2 finally came out this past wednesday.  It collects X-Men Alpha, AoA: The Chosen, Generation Next #1, Astonishing X-Men #1, X-Calibre #1, Gambit and the X-Ternals #1-2, Weapon X #1-2, Amazing X-Men #1-2, Factor X #1-2, and X-Man #1.  2 volumes down, 2 to go.  There was a 6 month gap between volumes 1 and 2, I hope that won't be the case for the remaining trades.

funny, at the start of the thread, you couldn't quit praiseing marvel icon_wink.gif

I saw vol one at the store the other day, flipped through it, and decided to stay away from it.  I spend too much money on the Ulimate trades to get involved with 616 stuff.
Big Grim
yeah, I was praising Marvel cuz I mean, c'mon...who woulda thought they'd actually ever acknowledge the Age of Apocalypse.  What next, Onslaught?  But yeah, I'm getting kinda bitchy having to wait 6 months in between trades  optimuslaugh2.gif

Kinda funny how I mentioned Onslaught since he'll be coming back shortly
http://www.TFans.com/talk/index.php?showtopic=45567

Anyway, vol 3 finally came out which collects X-Calibre #2-3, Astonishing X-Men #2-4, Generation Next #2-3, X-Man #2-3, Factor X #3, Amazing X-Men #3, Weapon X #3, Gambit & the X-Ternals #3, and X-Universe #1.

What's great about X-Universe is you get to see AoA versions of Wilson Fisk (Kingpin), Norman Osborn (Green Goblin), Arcade, Owl, Victor Von Doom (Dr. Doom), Matt Murdock (Daredevil), Tony Stark (Iron Man), Clint Barton (Hawkeye), Ben Grimm (Thing), Susan Storm (Invisible Woman), Bruce Banner (Hulk), Donald Blake (Thor), and Gwen Stacy. You also find out what happened to Black Panther, Namor, Peter Parker (Spider-Man), Frank Castle (Punisher), Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), and Johnny Storm (Human Torch). You also get to see AoA's version of Deadpool in X-Calibre.

I loved this when it first came out 4 years ago, and I'm glad we're only one trade away from the whole set. This is one of the few things I'll ever sing Marvel's praises about.
megagalvatron
I really wish they would put the whole Onslaught story in trade as that was another big ass story that I only got bits and pices of.
I.S.T.
Dammit, I just noticed that Jeph Loeb is writing it... now I feel compelled ot read. >.<
Big Grim
talk about Onslaught in the other thread
http://www.TFans.com/talk/index.php?showtopic=45567
Big Grim
well it's all finally over. Didn't post this right away, but finally got the forth trade back in October. Now the whole friggin series has been re-released, and as someone who loved Age of Apocalypse, I am pleased. Don't really think it was necessary to collect those issues of Blink and the later X-Man issues, but that's just me. But they did collect all of it, cept for the What If...? stories, but I have those. But damn, this was a kick ass series. Astonishing was my fav cuz I loved the team (Rogue, Morph, Blink, Sunfire, Sabretooth, and Wildchild) and the art by Joe Madureira.
GhostRider
OOOh. cool. I want to get the trades. I only have the return to the age of apocalypse trade.
Big Grim
yeah, this story really does stand the test of time. Just my opinion of course, but the current X-Men storylines really don't stack up.
Drewbie
what x-man issues did vol 4 collect?
Big Grim
X-Man #4, and #53-54. Those last two had to do with Nate, Cyclops, and Jean finding a buncha Infinites and some other tech that somehow crossed over from the AoA universe to the mainstream 616 universe. Wasn't very interesting at all frankly.
megagalvatron
The addition of thouse issues, plus the Prime, only made me question more why the hole reason for age of apocalypse wasn't inculded (the 4 parter were Legion killed prof X). I really don't get why they left them out as Prime picks up right were the Legion issues left off. I also would have liked if they icluded the return to the Age of Apocalypse as then I fell it would have been more "the complete epic". O well I just love the fact they put these out. thumbsup1.gif

Now we need a 7 part Clone saga "the complete epic". thumbsup1.gif
Big Grim
well the new AoA mini was collected in it's own trade not that long ago

Well, "Apocalypse: The Twelve" comes out in April I believe, so anything is possible.
Big Grim
wow, they're actually collecting "The Twelve"?! I guess you're right, anything is possible

Ya I know that I just thought it would have made more since in this collection than thouse X-Man issues. As for the twelve sweet I can't wait to be that. thumbsup1.gif
