i loved these toys too..probably died out cuz it didn't have a sucessful toyline n not enouth viewer ratings... wasn't cartoons like monster rancher out at the same time? (trying to remember what cartoons had better toys n out lasted dinozaurs)

The Dinozone toys are nothing but shell formers.

But they are cool shell formers. The show seemed a little campy, and to me had a very weak basis for them to continue on much past one season.

It was a nice attempt but it just wasnt meant to be.

The toys are kinda cool though, especially the shadow versions.

The Asian style dragon one was an awesome toy that wasn't a shellformer (Gigano Dragon was it?). That was a cool toy with an interesting transformation. I quite liked it, still got it.

But yeah, seems they just weren't doing enough sales and the line just kind of died. Bandai wasn't a major toy player in the USA at the time either it seems.

Monster Rancher was also out at the time. Both were interesting. Love the MR games so I found that era to be fun.

that, and Beast Machines seriously kicked its ass.

(I worked at Toys R Us at the time, i remembered the BM toys selling very well, while the dinozars gathering dust)

hey i did a little digging for ya and here is some info on Dinozaurs, I rememberthat cartoon sucking a pretty good one. the anmation was terrable, when in compairsion to BM but here is a website with info on it

What, the US took it off and the UK Fox Kids kept it. They couldnt show the last 6 episodes over here.

It lasted for for half of the second season. I belivie they took it off the air after the three dino brothers were using the dino weapons...

So they left us with a cliff hanger?

Escaflowne is an awesome anime if you get the DVD box set or an 'untouched' version. Fox Kids really neutered it. They took a mature anime and kiddified it, which makes it horrible as always.

Escaflowne is VERY mature. Not "gotta procreate" mature, but really mature. As in, an anime designed to make people think but said people also have to be aware of the messages. Which include finding your sexuality, your role in life, etc etc. The heroine even contemplates suicide in it which isn't something for kids obviously.

The movie's even worse on everything.

Yep.

Very much so. Uncut, Escaflowne is an -awesome- anime. Easily one of the 10 best of all time. Amazing music, great visuals, an excellent storyline all rolled into one. THEN add in all the characters and the fact that they are flawed heroes and you got a very memorable anime. I can't recommend it highly enough in its real format.

Fox Kids format though, is just a joke.

Which, coming back to TFs like we all like, makes one wonder how BMac could have been better if Fox Kids wasn't producing it.

I have a terra((air dino)) figure.  I got a video in the mail also, I was going to get more toys, but I never got anymore.

the toys were made from transparent and chromed plastic. oh yeah, that was real durable

They're fun to transform, though.....

But yeah, once I get a shelf for them I'll probably leave them alone
