Ha, isn't that neat. I didn't even noitce that. Good eye. I believe the no chorme Megatron was the first release of Megatron over there in Japan. It was called Magaplex only in the more recent reissue.

Your assumption is accurate. That is the version of Megatron that was released for G1 in Japan.

It seems that a lot of these guys are missing parts and stickers. It looks like they just grabbed what they could find and put them in the picture.
Still fantastic though.

These are the figures that started it all, have inspired today's toys and will inspire tomorrows toys. Those are the toys that made me in to transformer-fanboy. And yes, articulation is a very good thing, but by no means essential for a butt-kicking toy in my opinion. I'd choose a complete Devastator over a Shockblast any day. But that's my opinion, since you're asking anyway.

Well i gotta admit that some articulation would come in handy.
Anyway, it's impossible that you dont like at least one of those toys on that pic, there must be at least one G1 toy you might like, right?

The "second" Bumble in that picture is Hubcap.
Some of the toys are missing their stickers and Starscream is a cone head.

FOOL! NO ONE WOULD FOLLOW AN UNCHARISMATIC BOAR LIKE YOU!
This picture has 1 Hubcap (near Computron) and 2 Bumbles. 1 has a faction sticker and the other looks more like a rub-sign. Familiar 1500XG is no where to be seen!

This booklet appears to have been released in 1987, hence it only shows Transformers that had been made until then. Anything missing would be TFs that came afterwards or just never released in Japan at all (e.g.: Jetfire, Omega Supreme, Deluxe Insecticons, Deluxe Autobots etc).
The Megatron there is indeed one of the Japanese versions which was later reissued by eHobby as Megaplex (whose name and concept was created in Machine Wars, remember?).
