I never was a big fan of this series to begin with. If I see this it'll be out of boredom.

I frequent midnight movies. A couple of years ago one of the theatres ran Friday the 13th part 4.

Oh how the theatre laughed when the title "The Final Chapter" popped up.

Also Crispen Glover and Corey Feldman FTW!
Darth Caine
So now Jason will kill his victims with awesomeji1.gif dynamites?
Starscreamer
dear lord, he moved almost fast!

I think they said in this one he's more of a crazy survivalist than a supernatural tank with a machete. Should be interesting.

As a Friday the 13th fan, I am very happy.

I loved parts 6 and 7. He looked the BEST in 7 with all his bone and shot hanging out.

I am VERY excited about this movie. My older brother marks for Friday the 13th movies so he was the first person I told. He shat his pants.

That preview actually doesn't look that bad. Y'know, if you consider it ain't gonna be an epic literary storyline or anything. And I fail to see the point of a remake, when they basically almost started over again with Jason X ...

I knew something wasn't right when the robot chick was wearing fake nipples in that one scene. I swear, this was supposed to be direct to DVD but got shuttled to theaters at the last minute.

Anyway, I guess the new remake is a mash-up of the first three, kind of a "greatest hits" package. So, no psycho mom & no burlap sack-wearing retard.

Wow, way to remove all my favorite elements from the original Friday movies. To me the scariest part was the concept of a retarded hillbilly who lived in a shack with his insane mother and killed people who wandered into their neck of the woods. It was also a lot more plausible than an undead killing machine that travels through space and time to kill as many teens as possible.

I actually think Rob Zombie should've been given this property instead of Halloween. He could've done the whole inbred hilljack angle a lot better with Jason than Myers, IMO.

I think you'll like this movie then. It seems to be in the style of the first three, which was about a retarded hillbilly who killed people to avenge his dead mother.
It wasn't until F13 VI that he turned into a space travelling Manhattanite zombie.

The problem is that Zombie's done that theme about insane hillbillies before. I would rather Bay do F13 and keep it in the style of the original three/four films then Zombie remake it in the style of House of 1,000 Corpses or Devil's Rejects.
All things considered, I though Zombie's Halloween blew anything from the original series away.

I don't think Michael Bay has too much to do with this--if he's just executive producer, he probably just hands over the money & says, "Have fun kids, I'm blowing up giant robots over here" or something. Now, if he's producer, then I think he has more of a hands-on approach.

One thing this movie potentially has going against it? The director--he did the remake of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Pathfinder." Nothing I'd be proud of, for sure.

You are correct.

People see the "executive" and think that indicates a higher level of decision making in a production, but that usually isn't the case when it comes to the creative decisions, just the business ones. (I say "usually", because there are some executive producers who have been known to weigh in with creative decisions - probably because it's their money being spent).
