Toys R Us seems to have the jump on things lately. Earlier this week, there were reports flying that Universe figures are being spotted at the toy store. Now, there have been several sightings by myself of Animated Activators spotted on Toys R Us shelves as well. In locations including Dublin, Concord and Modesto CA, the first wave were hanging on the shelves. Wave 1 includes Bumblebee, Starscream and Bulkhead.

I've seen the wave 1 Activators as well, at Heroes Cards and Comics, a local comic store here in London, ON.

I picked up a Starscream one myself....

So does the 1 on 440 in Jersey City.

They also had Classics 2.0 wave 1, Leader Megatron from Animated, the Deluxe Movie exclusive redecos, and the GIJoe gift set featuring Serpentor's sky chariat.

Good day for the hunt!!!

However on the topic of Activators, I looked at them, I like them, but realisticly they should only be $5 or so. Call them what you want, but the tech is basicly the same thing that the G2 and early basic Beast Wars figs have.

I went to TRU today, hoping to find some Leader Class love (didn't but did find Lugnut, cute. Small but still full of a fair amount of win). Anyways, on my way out of the TF aisle, along with spotting Universe Sunstreaker and Prowl, saw all three of these guys. Have absolutely no interest. They're just as much a pass for me as were the FAB movie figs (except for Frenzy, which was the only fully transforming version of him and not a fold-former).

Now my dillema is do I cancel my pre-order for Universe Tankor/Streak/Prowl from HTS, or waste gas going about twenty minutes out of my way when I have no need to go out in that area except to buy these guys. In the long run, I might save more gas just keeping my order up than waste gas only to possibly come to an empty shelf time after time.

If you had them in hand and they where a pass, why would you continue the preorder?

If you've changed yourmind after you left the store, well thats fine. However if it's a matter of not wanting to pay for gas, well then it's a matter of math. Whats cheaper, a couple gallons, or a jacked up online price with shipping to boot on top of it?

Hopefully clearance will do us some justice.

Still, I don't care, a fancy name for a basic/scout is still a basic/scout. I won't pay more for just a new size name on a figure thats already released in a more suitable class size.

In my opinion, the Season 2 end seekers would be nice filler for this class instead of another StarScream, the same could be said for other backround bots like CliffJumper and IronHide to see if they sell well.
