I agree, although his interaction with Prowl made the character come alive a bit more IMO.

 

I'm not a Meltdown fan.

 

But if the Meltdown plot gets us more Dinobots, then I'm all for it.

I was starting to get worn out on Fanzone's "This is why I hate machines! RAWRR ANGST!!!" but they pulled it together by the end of the episode. Hopefully that means that when he appears in the future we don't need to have him ANGST-ing every other minute.

I like the continuity nod of having Sari train now that the Decepticons, in the form of Lugnutz and Blitzwing, have come onto the scene. Beyond that, I had more expectations of an Episode with the Dinobots.

1) Fanzone's 'cel phone' that looked like something out of an early 80s movie: Pure win. Notice the rotary dial on it? Maybe that's why he hates technology... he's using OLD technology!

 

2) Although I like most of the G1 nods, the Pretenders nod was a bit lacking. Looked kinda Frankenstein-ish. Anyone else get a vibe of a Big-O episode on that scene?

 

3) The Dinobots appearing is always nice, and finally seeing all three in robot mode is excellent, but they're wusses now! I mean, letting Meltdown domesitcate them? GRIMLOCK APOLOGIZING?? My only real gripe with the episode. Not sure if I like the Dinobots bowing down to a human, even if he is mutated.

 

4) I do like the fact that Prowl showed a 'weakness' on the episode. He seems to have a real concern for the Dinobots and was, at several points, confused about their behavior which affected his fighting ability.

yeah the thing is though, meltdown put them ina lot of pain, it was far simpler for them to do as he says rather than be put through more.
