Can we post our own personal auctions here? Or in The End Cap? Or anywhere?

I know you don't want shedloads of people joining just to "pimp" their auctions, but what about regular members? I feel more comfortable if I'm bidding on an item that's being sold by a member here & I'd like to give good deals to members when I get round to clearing out the stacks of surplus toys I have building up. Maybe I've misread/misunderstood this, but are "Check Out My Listings Guys!" threads still allowed?

(Please feel free to delete this if it's a stupid question!) :thumb

Siburke I think this bit answers your question: "The End Cap is the ONLY place on TFans that can be used for selling and trading."

My question here is on this part: Do not post links to items for sale that offer drugs, pornography, dangerous substances or anything else deemed illegal.

What is TFans stance on Knock-offs? can we link auctions for these? I would guess since we cant sell in this forum that it will be OK.

Thanks

Why not just say "If you have something to sell, and you don't give this site money as a sponsor, then don't post here"? That's how all this comes off as anyway.

I didn't think posting eBay auctions in The End Cap was the "done" thing, that's why I ask.

So, can we post our own auctions in The End Cap now? Could we always do that? It'd be a shame to miss out on that part of "networking" here. Like I said before, I'd much rather a sweet eBay deal of mine went to a fellow member & vice-versa. I know we could just deal direct with people here, but what about the whole "trust" issue? What if that person's never dealt with people here before? What if they have joined quite recently? I wouldn't do a trade with someone I didn't know without some kind of "cover" as such. I know eBay can give a universal indicator of how a person conducts themselves & provides security for people who aren't "known" on here for their trading.

Sorry to waffle on, but I just wanna be 100% on what's allowed & what isn't. :thumb

Unless you have a link to a commercial site or to something you are selling in your signature. Then, as it says, repeated posting will get you in trouble. If you aren't free to advertise pretty much whatever you like in your sig, be it a link to a site you enjoy or whatever, whats the point of even having sigs enabled? Most sites allow people to advertise whatever they like in their sigs as a nicety to their users...all their users. I've never heard a site sponsor complain about that kind of thing. So why is it specifically spelled out here?

It says NOTHING about what you have in your sig, just that repeated posting (ie: spamming) in The End Cap JUST to get your sig noticed isn't on. Without sounding patronising, you're quite new here & you'll see that the Staff are VERY reasonable. This thread is to make sure everyone knows the rules but they are not "Nazi-Mods" here. I'm sure anyone guilty will be tipped-off before they're banned & things will be sorted pretty easily.

So... what are you selling? :schin

That basically says, if you have advertising in your sig you can not post repeatedly in the forum. Unless there is some super secret version of this boards software running that lets you have a different signature for every thread you post in, at best you can post once in a thread without turning your sig off. The rules, as stated , make no reference to the content of a post, it just says repeatedly. It should be spelled out that repeatedly means repeatedly posting a response with the clear intent to do nothing other than make one's advertising visible and without addign to a conversation. It doesn't say that and I know for a fact that it will *and has* caused an issue.
