Transformers passed down to your children

Nemesis Prime 2K

Not sure what category this actually falls in, but I was wondering how many out there that have either passed on Tf's to their children or just pick up Tf's for their kids on routine basis. I have a masterpiece Prime still in a box as well as one of the 25th Anniversary Primes and new to the addition, an Amazon G2 Bruticus. He loves the Animated series and the new Prime series. He routinely goes downstairs to my shelves and brings up Tf's to his dresser top in his room. So I was just curious if anyone else has similar stories about Tf's and their kids.

I'm sure there are plenty planning to do this but since Transformer fans are still within the range of a natural lifespan I image the trend won't start picking up until were nearly gone. When I die it'll be nice to know my kid(s) will carry on but I've made peace that more then likely my figures will probably be either sold off or given away. Kind of a bummer to think about. Especially since I have no kids to speak of.

Once those of us from the G1 Generation get to a certain age and our children get to a certain age, we will be passing out Transformers collections on to our sons and daughters. My collection is getting passed on to my son in 7 years when he is ten. But even then I still buy him Transformers. He already has Universe Onslaught, Silverbolt, Cybertron Override, GI Optimus, Animated Sentinel Prime and many Mcdonalds Transformers. When he turns ten he will be getting all of mine along with my Takara ones, which is why I am waiting until he older to give them to him. Especially my Star Saber and Star Convoy

Don't have kids yet, but plan to. I aim to sell most everything in 10 - 15 years so the kids won't get much unless they cry. I hope to keep about a dozen of my favorite sealed g1 figures and ones I got as a child.

I've got a bunch of nephews, but only managed to pass on the love of Transformers to one of them. He's 22 now! Started him early on Beast Wars and it hasn't stopped since...much to his mother's disgust! My collecting is not the most well accepted by my family, even less so by my sister. According to her, we're just a couple of weird freaks and NOBODY really collects this junk but us and nothing can seem to convince her that it's a lot bigger than that.

My nephew has a large collection in it's own right, but nothing like mine. I've pretty much gotten most of everything and his was more getting what he could. I guess when I go, seeing I won't have any kids, it will probably all go to him.

I've passed on my TF Plushies and PlaySkool Transformers to my daughter and bought some Rescue Bots for her. I also let her play with my Happy Meal toys and Bot Shots, but they're technically mine. I still count all our Transformers as mine though. :) I don't know if she'll want to collect Transformers on her own when she gets a bit older... but if she does we'll probably just have a shared/amalgamated collection.

She only plays with Transformer toys under my supervision. That's a legal requirement because I have gun Transformers (G1 Megatron, MP Megatron, eHobby Megaplex) in my collection room, and by law nobody can be in there without me. The room is always locked when I'm not home. She's pretty good though -- she never tries to touch my Transformers without permission. If she so much as accidentally bumps one of my toys she starts crying because she knows she's done the wrong thing, even though I've never told her this or ever scolded her for it -- she just knows that she shouldn't be touching daddy's toys. :)

I don't think I've passed my collecting of Transformers bug down to my daughter or not. I know she has gotten into other things and collected other things as she has grown up etc. The new Strawberry Shortcake and the new Care Bears were a nightmare year or two as you guessed it I had to get them all for her. Can't just get her one thing. Gotta get them all for her. She like her father like that. I blame it on my mild CDO(It's like OCD but all the letters are in the correct order as they should be). I have never told my daughter that she cannot play with my Transformers. And she was known for and has taken some out to play with over the years. Sky Lynx was always a big hit with her for some reason cause it walked! Lately I haven't been getting many Transformers. Passed on the whole Hercules thing because I just could not justify the price of it with my daughter.
