Why would Mech go so far at the effort of making a clone Prime and not color him the same?!

No, he doesn't. I just watched the episode. And I just showed screen captures to prove it. In fact just now I went back and rewatched the scend where he falls through the roof and lands on Silas, and shuts down. His color remains faded magenta and teal throughout. He does not change to black and gray at all. It's faded magenta/purple where Opitmus is red, and faded teal where Optimus is blue, just like SG Optimus Prime. He never changes to black and gray. magenta, by the way, is a "cold purplish red" also known as process red.

Maybe the colors appear different on computer screens compared to the colors on television screens.
Nope. I've watched episodes on both and the colors are always the same no matter what screen I watch them on, whether it's my TV or my computer monitor, which is properly color calibrated, by the way, since I use it for art projects. Click the Youtube link; It's the same colors no matter what. It also makes a good homage to Shattered Glass too, so I certainly wouldn't be surprised that they probably did that on purpose.

To be fair... when he
He does look very purple when the lights hit him. But in other parts of the episode "such as a very beggining" he looks almost identical to prime. So only thing I can think of is that they used cameleon paint on him, or the organ that controls coloring was REALLY screwed up and that is why he kept changing deco's. Its probably just a major Easter egg for the "informed" and they used the light levels to hide it. XD

Exactly, which is why I brought it up. It struck me the moment I saw it, how much his colors looked like that of Shattered Glass Optimus Prime instead of the typical black and turquoise used for past Nemesis Primes. It also played a bit of homage to "Bizzarro" of Superman infamy, who used a similar "darkening" of his "original's" colors. I felt it was a brilliant choice and a great homage. I'm very tempted (finances willing) to pick up a second Voyager class TFP RID Prime and repaint it as Nemesis Prime.
