Review: DOTM Sandstorm Figure

Can a scout class figure really be a convincing triple-changer? So far, we have reviewed three scout class Human Alliance figures that claim to be triple changers. Only 1 has been modestly convincing of this tagline. As we dive into the 4th and final figure of this wave, we'll see if we can get a 50/50 split. You can find the rest of the review here.

Well PVT Dedcliffe looks like someone sat on his head, Love the robot mode and alt mode, don't see a point to the 3rd mode. Yet will still pick him up with Backfire.

Blitz I think we just got the 50/50 split here

I picked up sandstorm because he looked like a pretty cool robot and I was hoping to find some extra modes with his human. Like half the Internet, I stumbled upon his awesome mech-walker mode right away.

Lots of pics (starting 1/4 down) in this twf thread. :awsum

I like the figure, but I'm personally going to wait for the repaint of Sandstorm into the 'moon buggy' motif and possibly pick up the org here if/when he goes on clearance or sale.

Shame we can have a solid figure all the way around-I love Backfire's gun mode (for Leader Ironhide) and alt mode, but Sandstorm's got the better robot mode profile (and hands).

Be interesting to see who's coming down the pipe next after the repaints.

I for one wouldn't be sore if Hasbro decided to go repaint happy and make this their Beachcomber with a different head sculpt. I am really digging how this came out and will have to pick one up.

I'm disappointed in Sandstorm's color scheme. I really liked the darker green that was used on the body panels in the pictures of Sandstorm. It's too bad that Hasbro went for a lighter green on the body panels, one that blends in with the even lighter green used on the rest of the toy. I know the packaging says, "product and colors my vary," but aside from the Photoshop work, Hasbro's Transformers have pretty much looked as they do in the pictures.

the color scheme is ok...but the figure is really disappointing. I think Hasbro needs to stick with masked characters for a while. I hope wave 3 comes out soon cos I plan on getting the repaint...the colors are admitiedly better and the human looks great (has a full helmet, no face).
