Slowly but surely, the newest wave of Generations figures are trickling on the shelves. One such figure is Sergeant Kup, who hasn't seen much action since the 1980s. He makes his glorious comeback, but should he adorn your collection? Read this review to see for yourself!

I got Kup and Scourge last week. Kup is a really good toy, but I do wish the door panels didn't cover the hands. I don't think that Kup's facial expression is that bad. Clearly he's meant to look like he's yelling at someone.

Isn't there a way of bending his arms differently? I could swear I saw a video review where the person reviewing him used different joints that Kup has near his elbows. It puts the arm kibble under his arms rather than on the sides, not perfect but it makes a big difference.

Can't wait to get Kup and Scourge.

Search youtube for Peaugh's kup review for details, but yes, Kup basically has two elbow joints on each arm, and which one you interpret as the "correct joint" will affect how kup's arms look.

This review uses the "upper" joint, which his panels ending up on his sides. too it's credit, I think that's how the instructions say to do it. I however, follow peaugh's suggestion and use the "lower" joints, which makes his door panels end up being slung under his arms. I also rotate those panels so that they don't stick out past his hands. This does restrict his arms somewhat, but not badly and for me it's the most satisfying way to pose him.

One other note: in truck mode Kup fits together very tightly, so be careful when transforming him. I've had a couple of little plastic stretch marks appear on the lower part of his tummy, and I swear I don't know what I did to cause it, but I think it has something to do with how his chest rotates into place. (at least since this IS kup we are talking about, wear and tear can actually add character to the toy.)

And finally, that face. While there may have been many takes on Kup over the years, I think it's specifically trying to evoke '86 movie Kup, who certainly was expressive. His light piping works very well, some of the best I've seen in a while. His eyes always seem to have a light blue glow, even in less than ideal lighting.

I really hate that head. I still have issue with the shoulders and now I have issues with the arms. Im still getting one and buying that head replacement kit too.

Bought on site! Really wish I could get the head with the cigar though.

You can twist the arms sideways about 90 degrees to have the door kibble face the back. However, by keeping the kibble on the side you also gain the ability to cross the arms at the chest. You lose that when having the panels face the back.
