We wrap up our spotlight on the Power Core Combiners first wave with a look at Searchlight. He gives us a rarely used (or perhaps never before used) alt mode as well as the standard compliment of PCC abilities. See for yourself in this review.

So Searchlight likes monkeys, looks like Searchlight is also the offspring of Optimus Primal, with his monkey arms

Seariously not digging any of the Translucents, and Backwind looks like a Zord reject from Might Morphin Mini Rangers

Hasbro could have done a lot better on the heads.

I had high hopes for this one but now Im second guessing myself. I might get him if I find him on clearance eventually. Can the rotor blades come out of the arms?

Yes, in fact they are behind the robot in the package. It's a nice toy, but the Minicon that comes with Searchlight is awful.

Out of the first 3 this one is my least favorite.

I've mentioned in other posts but the face looks like a homeless guy in my area. That doesn't help much

The figure does have some redeaming factors like the arm blades, but he's a mess with all the kibble.

The minicon I do agree seems like an afterthought, and is very monkey like. I've gotten some fun "medative" doses out of him but that was it.

Just to see what it would look like I switched the arms and legs. I have to say it actualy looked fral good, the inability to stand though had me revert the figure.

Oh well, they can't all be perfect. I gave it a try and while I do like the guy, I'm not sure if I wanna keep it. I may just trade him off....

Boy, while you guys are going for the obvious monkey references my first thought was "Holy crap! Backwind looks like a Nimrod Sentinel! Look out X-Men!" Seriously, ignore the arms and look at the face. It screams Nimrod.

Again, I hate being repetitive but I can't stand that helicopter arm. It looks too much like the gimp arm on ROTF Megatron.

I like the torso form, but that head is fugly! I also hate the connector joints sticking out the rear end so predominately. I DO like the minicon though! I actually love the ape look. Hell, if Headmasters had some limited edition animals to heads, and Soundwave and Blaster have animals to cassettes...then why not animals to what ever the heck these minicons are suppose to be???

To me, it's not a problem with the ape-like features of the Minicon. It's a really poor Minicon with no parts that lock into place. It's almost like folding up a G.I. Joe action figure and saying, "There, it's not a gun."
