Review - Transformers War For Cybertron

In a year filled with little other news than Transformers 3 eye candy replacement and the occasional webisode, Transformers fans, still licking the emotional wounds of Revenge of the Fallen and the cancellation of Animated, couldn't get enough news about this new direction for the historically lackluster Transformers video game property. Until, that is, they had had too much, and hope gave way to hype. Now the question is: Can this game, this third-person shooter, live up to the mountain of publicity and speculation it has generated? It's pretty fun, but the ps2 Armada game is still the best Transformers game ever for me.

Earlier after I played a little bit of it, I was unsure how I felt... a little bit conflicted actually... so I went back to the game I've been playing most heavily as of late: Monster Hunter Tri.

But after getting ground to a pulp by one of the monsters contained within, giving up, and taking a break to eat some dinner I find myself wanting to go play War For Cybertron again.

Also, I find this review to be encouraging, as it offers me the hope that while I may be a little hesitant here at the outset, the ride may very well improve from here on in.

Thanks for the review, Ender! :thumb

I got the game last night and its a pretty decent game but something is not right. Its worth a buy for us TF fans but not for a hardcore gamer. This is the first game I bought for my PS3 and I don't regret it :D

I'd give this game more like and 8 for non TF fans. there's nothing wrong with it, but a lot of the context won't be half as enjoyable.

Stupid question: When are you going to review Cybertron Adventures? :run

Not a stupid question!

I won't have time to play through it before I leave for Botcon, but I do intend to play through it and reveiw it after I get back.

If possible I even intend to test it's family friendliness by playing co-op with my daughter.

I'm hoping to have time to get to the DS games as well.
