Pete Sinclair of the Transformers Collectors Club dropped us note with an update about the Club exclusives. The Punch / Counterpunch is sold out. They are looking in to getting some more made, but we have no details at this time. The Shattered Glass Cyclonus is closing in on 75% sell through. I have one of each coming. I almost didn't buy P/CP, but I figure he will probably get some good fiction in the future, then I'll regret not getting him. He'll probably show up in the G2 club story or something.

People are obviously into them as they are moving quickly. All things considered, this is the same pattern Hasbro's followed since the 3H days. Unfortunately, it has gotten pretty boring seeing reveals every year for toys we already have remade into toys we already have.

 

Don't get me wrong. There's a place to for it. I will always cherish my BotCon BW Arcee. Isn't 10 years of this rehash enough? Especially with Hasbro and Takara repainting within every line anyways.

 

I STILL wish we could just get some good ol' fashioned Special Editions. Bag the G2 flashbacks! Break out a Limited Edition MP Animated Leader Prime or some other mold that everyone loves and wants to COLLECT for a change. PLEASE!

Most club and convention exclsuives are limited to a couple thousand. You must remember that the club is still trying to sell some of the Airazor, Astrotrain and Dawn of Futures Past sets on it's site. They never know what's going to sell and what's going to flop. So they take a risk and make a guess. I think they would rather sell out than be stuck with unsold stock.

 

Back in the 1990s they would only make couple hundred of an exclusive, so they are increasing numbers slowly.

Well i sure hope that one of you cats out there who got yours so fast and so soon puts up a gallery fast. I really can't wait to see how this was pulled off since the makers have done nothing to show this toy off.
