The majority of the fandom is probably in agreement that Supreme class Devastator was a letdown. Well, Walmart might have some repentance. They have exclusive rights to a scaled down Legends class rendering of the Decepticon giant. As a bonus, you also get individual robot modes. However, can you swallow paying $32 for a bunch of Legend class figures? Maybe this review can help that decision!

Your closing point about this figure is the only reason why I'm intrested in it.

Even if Supreme Devistator drops to below $50 on clearance, the shelf space is to valuable to give up on that heap.

In all practicality, $32 is still to much for this. However for a decent representation of the figure that doesn't take up an entire shelf, I can see pairing this ensamble up with say RID Bruticus on one of my lower shelves as another TF beast.

Sadly, the collector in me also wants one for the MIB collection, so in the end this may run $70(after tax) if I jump the gun and get 2 at once.

Great review!

i agree, great review. and your last statement is very true.

liege. even if the supreme figure goes down to $15 i wouldn't get it, unless you'd plan on selling it on ebay for $30. It's kind fun taking it apart and putting it together.. and there are also a lot of little details that you can paint (which i find fun) but still.. no matter what you do to it, it still looks cheap & inaccurate.

i can't wait to find this figure. i think part of the appeal to me is how small he is. he's like a travel sized devastator. & if i were an misb collector i'd definitely have to buy two of these, from the photos i've seen, he looks great in his packaging.

i still can't get over how accurate they were able to make these guys with having all three modes.

tell me if i'm wrong.. but weren't there 8 components to the movie devastator? you have..

long haul - leg

rampage - leg

scavenger - torso

overload - torso

mixmaster - head

scavenger - arm

hightower - arm

& the hand on hightowers arm.

This is an amazing set! I've had mine around a month (At least since the current Argos catalogue started) and I really like it. Best £21.99 I've spent as far as my legends collection go's.clap.gif

I've had mine for a week, I really like him. A great desktop time waster. I don't do the individual robot modes much but the vehicles look great and fun to play with the kids. As for articulation of the figure, he really isn't that bad - actually since the arms are on the shovels, they can pivot up & down. Turn Hightower sideways and you can even get him in a high-five position. The only articulation point that confuses me is why they limited the hinge on his head. It can turn really far up, but barely down at all and I don't see a necessity for it...

Anyway I'm not a completist but would buy him again. Oh, be careful with Hightower's robot arms, I had to exchange a set because the hinge on one side is REALLY tight and caused the arm to break off.

that was a really great review, thanks blitz.

i really didnt care for the aesthetics of devastator, but the playability and fun of this toy are undeniable. ive even managed to get him posed as if crawling on all fours with a little tweaking of the individual limb robots joints. on my shelf hes an homage to Monstructor who underwent the micromaster treatment. GEEWUN FANBOI OH EM GEE

EDIT: heres a crappy image:

In regards to: "Besides the limbs being able to spin on the socket point, Dev is about as stiff as a brick can get."

While I pretty much agree, I find that you can still get a 'more accurate' pose for this little guy with a few non-moding tweaks. Straighten up the ankles, so that the upper body leans forward a bit more (or at least one, if you still want to give him a more action/moving pose). Next, outstretch the arms forward and touching the ground, a more gorilla-like pose. And finally, tilt the head up...then you can take liberties in tilting it to the left or right to get more of a 3/4 pose. It would be much easier to achieve this with some kind of flexibility at the waste, but it's not there. However, this is a 'more accurate' pose that you can't get out of the Supreme figure without moding. (I'll try to get a picture posted)

That combined with the individually transformable bots, as well as the 'more accurate' number of bots, IMHO, makes this set worthy of owning! :thumb
