NEST figures are coming fast and hard these days, and it seems you can't turn a corner without seeing new ones pop up on shelves. Target seems to be the place to find Mindwipe. Check out the review here to get the lowdown on this infamous hypnotist.

The gap in his chest can be mostly eliminated. You have to push his back into his front during transformation, but hard. Do it right, rear half will clamp into the front more deeply, letting the chest plate (w/ the Decepticon logo) sink further into his chest, mostly filling that space. You'll know it's right when you can't see any orange next to his chest plate. Looks better.

I too wish his jet mode underside were more jet-like, but it's not a problem for me. He's great!

He looks great to me. I can forgive robot kibble on the underside of an alt mode, provided it doesn't interfere with rolling (which is a non issue for me if the alt mode is a jet). That gap doesn't look too bad. I can't wait to get my hands on him and give him a dark purple/black repaint.

Hip Hop is right...you can see if you look at the side while transforming that he needs to be pushed farther that it feels like he should for the pieces to snap in. This also allows the red back piece to fold up more and give the head more room to spin.

Mindwipe has been such a strange toy for me. At first I wanted him, then I didn't (didn't like the feet...long pontoon feet just don't do it for me on my Transformers unless they look more...alien), but then I went on a hunting trip, could not find any good bots and picked him up for what I thought was on sale, only for him not to be. Transformed him once and actually thought of throwing him in the box and returning him.

However, the boy has grown on me. I LOVE his jet mode, and the vampire nature of him makes me enjoy the bot mode more and more. But the biggest plus for him is when I put him with Bludgoen...the two just look like they belong together...the vampire and the skeleton...and when I get Lockdown (god, do I want Lockdown), I will have the makings of a very nice monster squad (Frankenstein, Dracula and a skeleton ronin...all I need is a werewolf).

And for those wondering, I found 1, and only 1 Mindwipe at Target. They still have tons of Tuner Mudflaps an a few Dirges and Gears...one or two Bludgeons today...but I have seen only one Mindwipe and I own him.

I love how ROTF has handled jet formers and mindwipe is the peak of it. I never thought I would see a transformer with a jet mode that nice outside of the MP seekers. just incredible all around and he pegs together unbelievably well. I really want to find a better weapon for him though, those daggers are a little puny for an inter-galactic war robot.

btw, optibotimus' review covers the chest hole thing and how most people miss it

I would really like to see this guy in G-1 colors. (brown, purple& black) The nice thing about figures like this and Bludgeon is they are not limited to being 'movie' figures. Hell, they could re-paint this guy and put him in the next 3 TF lines and I would still get it.
