The fourth Human Alliance figure is upon is, and it's not even a character featured in the sequel. Barricade graces the line along with his companion Frenzy. Is it any better than his Deluxe version? So far, all the HA figures have shown promise, but feel free to read this review and find out for yourself.

I got mine yesterday and absolutely LOVE him!

I think there's room for some easy mods here and there with this figure. For one, you can shave down the plastic blocks on his hips to allow them to move up more which will give the figure a better straight up standing ability.

At first I feared his alt mode looked a little off, but in person it's just beautiful.

I only wish the tip of the shoulders could rotate and bend to the outside like on the deluxe version. I like that feature with that figure, it allows you to get the kibble out of the way better. As this one is, they can only stand straight up or pinch in a bit.

I'm also getting such a kick out of how Frenzy comes out of the belly to man the guns. The shoulder chair is pretty useless. For some reason every time I look over at it, all I can hear in my head is, "Get in my belly!"(complete with accent)

I just wish they would have worked in a left hand. It might have had to have been designed a little differently than the right hand, but I think they could have done it. Guess the budget monster reared it's head on that one. Might be one I take a crack at doing myself sometime.

The hood doesn't do anything, but the bumpers can be angled for a more screen accurate look. The instructions just don't show it. If you have any love for the Barricade character-This guy is a Must have!

sigh.. i finally found the figure @ three am while i was packing out one of my walmarts. ( god people get stupid when there's a snow storm.. you'd think it was the end of the world the way people buy bread around here)

this figure is incredible.. only two minor problems, one fixable.. and one i have to live with. i wish the weapon arm also had an optional hand, but i can deal with that. the other problem is the hips, i wish they were able to have the leg at a ninety degree angle 360 degrees around.. but i can fix that by cutting down the notch that's restricting it.

here are a couple pictures.

i'm SO glad that they don't bend outwards.. that looks absolutely ridiculous on the deluxe figure, not to mention incredibly inaccurate.

The point is with the deluxe version you had the choice. Nothing wrong with positioning something a slightly different way if someone feels that they like the figure better that way. There are no rules saying you MUST keep all TFs posed in the standard transformations even if one feels a figure looks better doing something a little differently. That's part of the fun.

I notched his grill so the bumper ends would fit into it, sort of the bent-metal look from the CG art. Also painted the grill black, along with lots of the brown parts, looks MUCH better. Trimmed down the grey blocks so his hips swing wider. Cut apart his fingers so they can move separately. I also modded his leg kibble, the taillight sections, so they can rotate to be more in-line with his legs.

Frenzy is way too tall, tho. I cut some out of his legs to shorten him a bit.

This may be my favorite HA fig, he's quite great, esp. after some simple mods.
