Tales Of The Fallen #3 Reviewed

No "Coattails of the Fallen" this month. Issue 3 in the Tales of the Fallen series is a solid entry in to the movie-verse fiction, possibly because it has the wrecking balls to step away from it. "Tales of the Fallen" is Pig Latin for "Movie-verse Spotlight" and this month's focus is the cantankerous Jetfire. Now with character, not just caricature.

Sorry, I really am, I hate being "that guy" but they're Monster Minds from Jayce and The Wheeled Warriors.

Again, sorry.

Basicly from the review though, the issue was good yes?

Also, I like that they showed the Constructicons. Something that bugs me is when forums start writing the side story. Due to one thread, the belief was put out there that Ravage made them all with the Allspark shard. There's more holes in that theory then the movie itself. So I'm glad this squashed that idea.

No worries.

Some times I type these up at 2 AM when I can't get my favorite rugrats to sleep, my obscure cultural references tend to slip after midnight. I'm getting old.

Yeah, on it's own legs it was a good comic. Not great, but good.

I never bought the Ravage and the Shard explanation of the Constructions either.

If it was any other series, I probably wouldn't care. I'm not a knit picker like that. For me as a kid though it went

Wheeled Warriors

Voltron

Transformers

GIJoe

Everything else

Wheelies being a Mattle product for boys never had a chance, and theres only so much you can do with 5 lions, so today Transformers is the Big Will. Still, Wheeled Warriors and Voltron are very noticable in my collection.

To bring this back to Transformers, a good amount of people that worked on scripting Wheeled Warriors also worked on Beast Wars. That's the closest I could do for bringing this back on track.

Again, sorry for being "that guy"

And yeah. People have way over complicated the movie, worse the the writers did.

Ravage with the shard, what people forget is that there where Constructicons in the film befor he got the shard and after it was used on Megatron.

I figured when Decepticons started comint to Earth Construction equipment was advised to them for alts as it's used all over the world. Makes sense.

The Constructicons on the freighter, well, how hard would it have been for Soundwave to order a few bots to meet Ravage there?

Add the fact that all the Allspark bots where mindless and factionless just makes you wonder why these bots would have faction signs all over them not to mention self control?

Sorry but I've been reading DVD comments all day. My favorite bing "If the Decepticon protoforms crashed in Paris, how'd they crash in Egypt too? Am I supose to believe they went back into space to crash again!?!"

The simple answer is, maybe they called in more guys. I guess it's only hard if you make it that way though...

-side note, if I knew a dam thing about quality kitbashing, I'd love to take some of my extra WW cars and make a custom crossover line.

I totally want a transforming Armed Force now.

I was a BIG Wheeled Warriors fan back in the day. I haven't really kept up with it. Though I still have a few toys, and snagged a cheap base I found last year. I keep meaning to hunt down some DVDs...

Only the first half of the series got released. It eneded with a good episode though. Some where real painful to watch. Once I get a TrailBlazer I have the collection complete with alot of extra cars.

And hell yeah Transforming Wheeled Warriors that would keep the same interchang gimmick. T drew up a Spike Trike and Drill Seargent a while back. I put there axles on their backs so they could either ride them as skateboards or swing them like weapons. On Spike Trike I put his front wheels on a long chain attached to their mounting rod so he could swing them mace style.

Even came up with a back story. Like most TF stories a ship crashed. For years with minimal life support the bots inside where in stasis with one bot left awake to tend to everyone. One day he stumbles across some battle worn and abandoned vehicles in a thicket of enormous wild vines. He uses parts of the vehicles to repair his shipmates, and their you have it.

The Monster Minds, since they morphed anyway I would leave as such. Find a what to make the toys turn into their humanoid counterparts.
