On second thought, it may not actually work so well with a barcode scanning program. Im not sure about all retailers but I know at wal-mart(where I work) alot of items are cross-referenced. Basically all the UPCs for all the characters are all entered in the system referenced together with all of them. So enter a UPC for Alt Wheeljack in a walmart system and it may come up with 8 on hand but it could actually be Optimus or Prowl.

I can tell you, the Alternators Wheeljack UPC code would not work, seeing as the figure's been discontinued for a few years now.
