Is Galvatron really Megatron?

Why is Galvatron's personality nothing like Megatron. In fact it's just the polar opposite. Megatron is calm, cool, collected and smart/intelligent. Galvatron is a hot-head, hyper, emotional, doesn't think, has no plan, just wants to kill everything.

I like Megatron better than Galvatron. I did not like the change, just like how they killed off Optimus Prime. At least they could have done was have Galvatron sound like Megatron, and keep the name Megatron. That way we know it's the same guy.

Also, they should have made it clear that Scourge is Skywarp, Cyclonus is Thundercracker, and the Sweeps ar the Insecticons.

What suggests that they died during the transformation was statues appearing of them in the tomb of Decepticons featured in the episode "Starscream's Ghost".

In the G1 cartoon, it is implied that Galvatron's extended time being in the lava bath had damaged his brain. Even when he comes out of the lava in FFOD, the animation shows sparks or "shorting out" effects on his head. Even so, Unicron re-made those guys into new beings, not just giving them new bodies.

Besides, I think it was Astrotrain that made it clear they are the same person.

Is it just me who feels this way? Why wasn't there as big an outcry over Megatron being reformatted into Galvatron as there was at Optimus Prime being killed off. They could have reformatted Galvatron back into Megatron. After all Unicron was able to give Starscream back his body.

Probably more kids liked the Autobots more than the Decepticons. Isn't it usually the case where the good guys are more popular than the bad guys?

I don't mind that happened to Megatron. What I don't like is that Galvatron had a different voice and was annoying. And the fact that the plot points in TFTM keep getting re-used over and over again in other series.

I actually have come to appreciate Rodimus Prime even though he's not as great as Optimus Prime. I think it's because he was the underdog and no one expected he would become leader of the Autobots. So the change at the end of Transformers The Movie was really awe-inspiring. It sent chills through my body and I came away from that movie feeling really good and pumped up. I don't get that with Galvatron. I long for Megatron. If they just would have kept his voice and personality the same I could accept the physical change, maybe even come to like it. But that whiny little voice ruined it. Megatron had a strong, cool voice. Galvatron sounded like a complainer, a nagging wife. Also Galvatron seems to lack Megatron's intelligence. So there's nothing of Megatron in Galvatron as far as I can see. It's saddening and infuriating.

Galvatron has a weaker mind than Megatron. He was bewitched by the TV signal in "Big Broadcast of 2006".

When the insecticon Bombshell tried to shoot a cerebro-shell into Megatron, he caught it and crushed it with his bare hand. Like Starscream, Galvatron can't think that quickly and they would like Soundwave say, "Yes Master Insecticon".

I just can't see this happening to Megatron. He's too bad-ass.
