...like people in an online forum

internet won with this post... and destroyed! :P

give it time....

since they started blocking myspace, music, porn, and games what else are people gonna do at work?

work? :schin

Personally, I'd like to see less of a distinction between casual fans and hardcore fans... most online forums are kind of like fan-ghettoes.

Online forums are natural places for fans to congregate. You're always going to have fans of varying levels of fandom ranging from casual to hardcore. I think the important thing is for people to be respectful and tolerant of each other's differences and to discuss their opinions in a civil manner and not to make things personal.

I'm not referring to anyone particularly, but there are always those hardcore fans who don't consider new comers "true fans" just because said new comers haven't been into Transformers continuously since the end of MTMTE Part I.

If someone's interested enough in Transformers to discuss any part of it as part of a conversation then they're a fan IMO.

If they took the time to find, register, and post on a TF message board then they're DEFINITELY a fan.

About the "What's appropriate for PG-13 debate"

I have to say just about anything goes these days. The PG-13 rating is steadily becoming a joke because film directors can just about do anything.

Blood use to be major taboo in animated films as did violence but not anymore. Has anyone seen DC's direct to DVD Gotham Knight? A full view and body sniper head shot and it was still able to obtain a lesser than R rating.

Sexual humor also doesn't seem to be huge issue. You'd think any movie that has one man getting his head shoved up another man's ass would warrant an R rating. Apparently not in the case of Hancock. :tflaugh

I agree. On the other end of the scale, there are newer fans (again not referring to anyone in particular) who haven't been into TFs as much and aren't as knowledgeable about Transformers as a whole who show resentment toward others who are more knowledgeable. If someone is talking about a certain facet of Transformers that they don't know about (or may not be interested in) then there's no need to get narky... nobody's forcing them to read threads or posts about TF areas that they may not be familiar with. Just move along and interact with another thread or posts that you do feel more comfortable/familiar with!

Like I said before - there are many different kinds of fans. Different people enjoy Transformers at different levels and different ways. We just need to be respectful and tolerant of our differences. The common thing that unites us is that we love Transformers. :)

I still like It but there are plenty of things that could of been better, for example they had to much comedy and not enough of the Cons, Im hoping the next movie Is different than the first.

I agree with both of you. The newer fans who are just getting into TFs are fans but they don't understand why those of us who grew up with G1 are up in arms about Brawl being called Devastator in the movie. I understand the fact that most of the fans 18 and under don't have a clue who Devastator was. Since they grew up with Beast Wars so they never saw what we did in G1. All though the ones who read the comics do understand our qualm about Brawl being called Devastator by Micheal Bay. There are other minor things from the movie but Brawl was the biggest gripe I, and many others had. Hasbro named the figure and Bay should have respected the creators of the source materials naming.

I do welcome all of the new fans no matter what their level of experience with TFs.

As far as the movie goes it could have had more Transformer time than it did but hopefully the next one will be more about the Transformers and less about the humans.
