KO TANSFORMERS BINATECH POLICE LEAGUE

ROYAL ROBOT

Recommended Posts

The only one that interests me is the Viper. But the light bar looks too big, the roof looks like it doesn't tab in, they should have use Sideswipe's head so it doesn't look like Dead End, and, most importantly HA Barricade has officially been confirmed. I'll wait for that. :bounce

Question: when I look at pictures of KO Dead End mold it always seems to me as if in car mode the roof (and windows) are higher than with the alt/BT. There seems to be more clearance between the roof and the top of the door.

Is this the case?

To answer a few questions - these are NOT as good as the BT and Alt versions. While all the joints and parts are there, the tolerances are different. Some parts are tighter than they should be, many are looser than they should be (particularly arms and hips).

Some joints are soft, where they should be ratcheting. On their version of the Viper mold (and this includes all variants, not just the police one, so the yellow, red, white and black Sideswipe, the yellow, "fire", white, regular and police Dead Ends) the roof doesn't come in close enough to the body in robot mode, so it sticks out noticeably (and on the Sideswipes, does not lock with the upper shoulder section properly), and the legs must be posed spread wide and with the knees bent, due to some slight molding differences with the feet. The RX8s tend to have soft hip joints, instead of ratcheting ones, and their knees tend to bend easily, making standing poses trickier.

(So, yes, Rawhide, you're correct.)

It's all about degrees. The Alternator/Binaltech figures have extreme degrees of engineering, and unfortunately the KO companies do not completely recreate those properties, resulting in a different experience. And they smell weird.

Having said all this, I have most of these KOs, and I enjoy them. However, don't be mislead by anyone saying that they are just as good, because they're not. They're unique and different and add an extra dimension to your displayed Alt/BT figures with their unusual color schemes, but they are not substitutes.

@JOCKS_RETURN: No, the Alt/BT molds are not destroyed, and nobody has ever claimed that they were. The molds of several G1 figures were destroyed. These figures are NOT from the original G1 toyline.
