people_roberto_orci.jpgRoberto Orci stating (in a way) that Transformers 2 may have up to 10 robots on each side, potentially doubling the cast of the first film (which stood at 13)

I'd love and think we could almost barely manage ten on each side, with some front and center and others as more supporting.

Ohhhhh Just imagine all the repaints that Hasbro can bring out then.....And then there'll be "premium versions". Store exclusives.ect....

Hasbro should bring out one version of every figure, then maybe legends sizes aswell for kids that can't afford all the huge figs.

And make a damn voyager BONECRUSHER!!!

This makes sense.

The core cast looks like it'll be the same so Hasbro's going to need more characters to base toys off of.

I'm probably speaking for myself when I say the core characters shouldn't be changed and were represented well enough the first time around. That said I don't want upgraded Prime, Ironhide, Bumblebee, etc I want original toys that look great next to the first movie's incarnations.

Knowing it's Hasbro, this will never be the case.

I disagree.

I think Prime could be more accurately represented in robot mode. Changes were made to the final animation model after the toys were already locked, and the abdomen areas on the toys don't match what we saw in the movie. I'm all about a more accurate representation, and if ILM is reusing the old animation model, it gives Hasbro plenty of lead time to design a more accurate toy.

Also, I think all the heads on all the Bumblebees didn't quite capture the character. They all looked too "mean." Ironically, the non-Transforming leg-less Bumblebee head sculpt that came with Longarm was spot on perfect in capturing the character in general, but it was inaccurate to the scene it was trying to recreate by leaving off the battle mask. I'm hoping for a new transforming Bumblebee with a head sculpt that does the character justice.

Also, as much as I like the Voyager Starscream mold from the first movie, there are tons of things Hasbro can do to a new Starscream mold that would make me desire it - hands, more streamlined jet mode, etc.

And we need a new Megatron option, period.

That having been said, I'm probably more interested in expanding my movie collection with new characters than getting new versions of Ironhide, Ratchet, and the rest of the first movie cast.

But I'm really excited to see new and improved versions of the four listed above.

More robots = less crappy repaints. I think since Hasbro saw how successful the first movie was, they're more willing to put more robot fodder out there this time around.

I read about this on Wikipedia weeks ago. Took it with a grain of salt, but this seems to be a little more confirming, and would therefore seem more likely the Chevy Malibu with custom Chinese writing police car that was in the article about Jazz's possible return to the cast being Prowl, seems more and more likely.

As for toys is concerned, I agree with Hobbes-timus on the figures he listed. I think a cross between the the first release and premium Prime heads would be perfect for the head, and secondly, would it be so hard to put in a removeable mouth plate. I mean, they did that with Galaxy Force/Cybertron Prime and they're doing it Voyager class (ergo smaller) Animated Prime. If Jazz does return, they need to fix his head. Namely his mouth. And fix the hands too. If Barricade comes back, they need to redo him using the Premium head, but he needs hands people. Hands. Ratchet, pretty good they only thing I might change would be the weapons.

Personally, I think more robots = more original molds = more crappy repaints because there are more molds to repaint. You gotta recoup costs on those molds eventually. But, as with the first movie, I'll just ignore the repaints.

A lot of good points made about the first run of movie figs needing improvements.

Though I like the movie figs for what they are there's no denying they could have been better. I the core characters are redone I'd most want a better Barricade toy that featured those spinning weapons. Hasbro did a wonderful alt mode but everything else is pretty much :fail

Jazz returning could also yield a much better mode.

Prime as a Leader class to was pretty good but hopefully if Hasbro does go back to the drawing board for this one the face will be movie accurate and the proportions/gun a lot better.

Also each figure released this time around had better come with its own all spark fragment. :tflaugh

If this is true about there being 10 bots per side, they better show some of them in the trailers and teasers when they are out!! Was kinda thinking that Chinese police car could possibly be Prowl, and that the 3-wheeled bike could possibly be Ravage..

Can't wait to see which Decepticons will be showing up in TF2 either!!
