Botcon Megatron ?

Not bad, but the design works better for Galvatron. Glad to see they at least do some slight modifications to the mold to make it more unique.

Eh, not bad but not great.

I agree with Hobbes, the Cybertron Defence Scattorshot mold with a Megatron head would have been a better choice.

I'm a little disappointed that they went with a colour scheme so close to G1 Megatron's though. A G2 purple and camo scheme wouldn't have worked, he would have been too close to Shattered Glass Prime colour-wise. A red, blue, and silver G1 OP inspired colour scheme, however, would have done wonders.

Finally, I agree with everyone else. The Energon Megs mold says "Galvatron" to me. It just looks odd with a Megatron head.

Good vs Evil switcheroos really don't do justice for Transformers. I mean really, even the Decepticon name is evil. Just look at it!

It's figures like these that make me think that the organizers of the BC exclusives need to have a fan poll with some of their top ideas. I'd much rather vote on something rather than being surprised with "meh" figures. I don't think it would be too hard to come up with three or four ideas for the next year's exclusives, then post the poll on the site and/or have the poll at botcon. And to keep things interesting and a secret they could hold on to the results until time to reveal them for their respective year. I know this is off topic, but it's something that's been rambling around in my head for a while.

Anyways, back on topic, I think this Megatron is okay. To me he could pass as good or evil considering he has most of his original "Megatron" paint apps. I do like that Hasbro is re-using this mold though. I wonder if this was something that was kicked around originally for Universe/Classics 2.0?

I dunno, I think he'e lookin' pretty nice...figuratively and literally (for the most part). True, doing "good" Decepticons isn't as effective as evil versions of Autobots, but still a decent result. I can totally picture Frank Welker talking for him in a good-guy voice.
