Alternators possibly coming back?! They were cool, but with Animated, Classics, and future Movie lines on the way...I mean, let's face it...joe blows like me just can't afford it. From a financial standpoint, I can live without them. Same deal with Masterpieces...too hard to come by and too much money. I have Optimus and Megatron, but I can't deal with getting teased with awesome figures I can't even find. Any news on Titaniums while we're at it? Heh, heh...wish they'd just cast those Arcee, Shockwave, and Cosmos figures in plastic and slap 'em in the new Classics line!

Edit: voluntarily removed sarcastic comment in favor of something more constructive

I used to feel the same way. I'd buy 10-15 cheap figures for what 3 or 4 MP's and/or Alts would've cost me, but over time I realized it was those expensive figures that meant more to me in the long run. Almost all my main-line stuff is either boxed or sold, while the reissues and MP/Alts - those I once deemed "too expensive" - are still on display. Now I save up for the big boys.

Also, *Hopes for movie Alts*

I do like the Classics toys, but if I had to choose between them and Alternators, I would choose Alternators.

There really should be some movie Alternators, at least the ones that are regular cars. Barricade and Jazz deserve better than those crummy deluxe toys they got.

I wouldn't think that movie characters would be any better off in 1/24 scale... the Alternators are super-detailed for G1 characters. They've already made larger movie toys and they haven't really impressed me either.

It wouldn't really improve the bots much, except for having better hands, but they could make the cars look a whole lot snazzier and realistic than they currently do. Jazz, Barricade, and BB would be a piece of cake to pull off. Ratchet and Ironhide would be harder, but far more rewarding and would add a lot more diversity beyond a pickup and a jeep.
