Review: DOTM Darksteel Figure

It seems like when a Beast War tribute is announced for a TF line, it creates all kinds of hype. DOTM gives us it's first Beast Wars tribute with Darksteel, which is said to be a tribute of Quickstrike. Just how good of a tribute is it? Click here to find out!

When I saw this I thought it was a terrible repaint, which is ironic as the biggest issue with DoTM Sodeswipe was that he was unpainted.

 

I'd add, it seems that Starscream's mech tech combo weapon is really cool on paper, but can any of the deluxes actually use it?

I had to do some initial work on sideswipe in this mold so he would fit better together in alt mode, not up to doing it again on this mold. That and the mechtech weapon/gimmick is just way to over done on this figure seeing as he already has built in swords. If he was more akin to General Greivous, then yes, I could see him needing more swords, however... And I'll just leave the paint job "untouched". Your review puts me off the fence I was on about this one.
