Since it's sort of relevant, I want so say that I watched DOTM tonight. It was okay, the tentacle driller thing was annoying, but that made it fun to see Optimus Prime destroy it. However, right after that Optimus Prime gets tangled up in some steel cables. That was dangerously close to being hilarious.

Remember when there was debate about the brutality if Autobots in this movie, Optimus Prime in particular. Why did no one defending it actually describe what happens in the movie? Why use the "it's war" argument when the movie itself has events that make what Prime does make total sense? That goes for the other Autobots too. Anyway, it was all good. Sentinel Prime was a real asshole.

Poor Shockwave. He really was just "there" wasn't he? He might as well have just been one of those nondescript Decepticons that were teleported from the Moon to Earth.

I think the reason those of us defended it as just war was due to the general confusion over killing your enemies during a war. Or at least that was my take.

I actually took great pains to outline in detail events in the entire trilogy that showed a steady pattern of character developement leading to events in TF3. I made sure to cite in-context movie plot points so as to leave no room for speculation, only fact. For my trouble I was told repeatedly by one forum member in particular (not going to mention who. No point) that their opinion was more valid than my fact-based, so I dropped out of the discussion after that. Everyone else in that thread agreed with my assessment and that was good enough for me.

I'm not the only person to make specific points as opposed to broad generalizations though. A couple other guys stated their cases in similiar fashion. I'm sure yo can find it in the archives if you dig around.

Yeah, sometimes no matter what point you make, it's futile to talk your point. Narcissism is rampant in fandoms.

I hear that, but it's okay because I am in fact the best and also irrefutably correct in everything I say and do always :P
