Review: DOTM Leader Class Ironhide Figure

It's just as well. It's the Voyage mold that's finally getting the red repaint right?

I'm still hoping if they do, do a red repaint its the old Ironhide mold with the Recon remold. Though I would take the DOTM one.

So far the only LC I have for DOTM is Sentinel Prime. I was going to order Ironhide but now I'm on the fence, About him

It's like after the awesomeness of ROTF Prime, Jetfire, and Starscream they took a step back on the DOTM leaders

My point exactly

I'm NOT 100% sure but I think one of the pieces of news out of BotCon was that they'd be repainting the DOTM Voyager class Ironhide red and releasing it in the 4th or 5th Voyager wave.

I like the Recon mold better too but I can deal with the DOTM one.

Really like this guy, but I need to get my sweaty paws on him. I will be doing some mods immediately, tho: getting the butt flap to fold up and out of the way and removing the ratchets on some of his joints, so they can be more finely positioned. And painting those jeans black for the love of Primus.

Wondering if anyone has considered removing the flap on the left-hand cannon and gluing it to the top of that cannon, so it doesn't stick out so far when the cannon is deployed. That flap bothers me.

Thanks for the review, Blitz. Another great one. I was actually looking forward to getting this guy, but his flaws have cooled me off considerably-especially the lack of ground clearance in alternate mode. REALLY bugs me.

Personally, I think Sentinel Prime is way better than Jetfire. Here's how I rank the leader toys from RotF and DotM (I don't have DotM BB...)

1. RotF Optimus Prime

2. RotF Starscream

3. DotM Sentinel Prime

gap

4. DotM Ironhide

5. RotF Jetfire

6. RotF Megatron

Eh I would put Jetfire ahead of Sentinel Prime myself, Sentinel is great, but Jetfire has him beat with detailing. I will have to wait until I get Ironhide before I can determine where he would go on the list, but I do agree with ROTF Megatron being the lowest ranked.

If you include TF1 I think Megatron would be even lower then ROTF Megatron. Actually, I KNOW it would be the lowest.

Jetfire is much less detailed than the other leaders. His alt mode kibble is horrendous and his robot mode is boxy. An unfortunate sude effect from him having to combine flawlessly

If I were to rank all the leaders in the movie lines from best to worst, it'd be:

-ROTF Optimus Prime

-Sentinel Prime

-Hellscream

-Ironhide

-Brawl

-Jetfire

-Bumblebee

-'07 Megatron

-ROTF Megatron

-'07 Optimus Prime

Nah, 2007 Leader Megatron is better then ROTF Megatron, and Jetfire does have more detailing then Sentinel Prime. I've never had a problem getting Jetfire to stand on his own, didn't have to cut anything. Sentinel Prime is in need of a paint job to much red and not enough in the detail department. While Jetfire you can see that he is an old Transformer, and is worn like he was in the film. Never had a problem with kibble.

While ROTF Megatron is utter crap, one huge arm and one tiny deformed arm. What a waste also he can't move his head, oversized chest, he is easily the worst of the leader class figures. Even DTOM Bumblebee is better then ROTF Megatron
