Well Blitz, you're damned if you do and damned if you do.

How about every ime you give us 2 reviews simultaneously: one for the old system and one for the new?

I like the new one, and you know people will still complain

Change always is hard. I'm making some modifications and hope that, starting tomorrow, they'll ease some concerns. However, the realism category is staying. Why? I think it's important. When comparing to a real life vehicle (aka movie figure using a branded vehicle), it should be known how close the mold comes to representing the real thing. If it's a non-movie earth based mode, is it believable? If it's an alien alt mode, is it plausible (aka is it not just a folded up or otherwise contorted robot)?

I appreciate the positive and negative feedback. I'm going to try and be more in depth while keeping the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) logic I try to use on reviews. Keep the comments coming!

I think alt mode aesthetics and realism should be combined into one score (maybe double points?) because they both deal with how believable it is. Realism doesn't necessarily apply to a line like animated, but believability is universal across all lines. Is this alt mode feasible? Does it look like what it should? Are the robot bits well hidden?

Maybe I just have a problem about the word 'realism' when comparing alien robots that transform into rusty ice cream trucks :P

I am really, REALLY disappointed by this review...and I have to wholeheartedly (but respectfully, of course) disagree with your assessment, and I'll tell you why: I never liked any of the movie Primes released by Hasbro until this one, even the "movie accurate" voyager Battle Blades one from ROTF, because they never portrayed the appropriate bulk and, let's be honest, wonky proportions of Prime in the hands of Bay; this one has it in spades. Even with the gaps in the alt mode, you gotta appreciate the engineering that went into the design - far better than the 'robo-vision' version that was damn near a shell-former. I have a bad feeling that you're going to be super-harsh on any new releases of old characters, simply because you already have a preconceived notion of what they should be like, but I gotta tell you - I bought none of the previous movie toys because they just never looked (or possibly, felt) right; these new toys seem to have somehow captured the right look and feel, even if they aren't totally accurate.

That said, Blitz-Wing, I love your reviews - keep up the good work, we really appreciate it!

this figure is terrible compared to the cgi model.. that's the whole point of a toyline.. to give you a physical interpretation of what you're seeing on the screen. .. we have a preconceived notion of what they should be like.. because in the movie we see what they should be like..

how does something capture the look and feel of a character with being less accurate than previous molds? that doesn't quite make sense. and how are you in a position to judge the look and feel of a figure that you don't have? it's obvious you don't have leader prime.. if you did, you'd know how high the bar has been set for a movie prime.

This is why I typically don't contribute to forums. I'm going to assume your remarks weren't meant to be as condescending as they sounded, so I will say this: what I was trying to describe is something that may be somewhat intangible, so no, it may not make sense to everyone.

True, I do not own the Leader Prime from ROTF, but I have friends who do, and I've seen it enough (and swore enough while trying to transform it) to know that, to me, it just wasn't quite right. More to the point, however, was that Blitz was comparing this to the Robo-vision Prime, which he thinks is better; I happen to disagree.

Finally, in reference to my comment about a 'preconceived notion', it was referring to the construction and appearance of the toys themselves, not the CGI models, since they are completely different concepts.

Spooner, one thing to remember about a forum is that it's highly subjective to opionion. Everyone has one, and this allows them to voice it. With anything, it's HOW that opinion is voiced. I found nothing wrong with your criticism of Optimus. As my review is in part an opinionated piece, I found too many faults in Prime for me personally to enjoy it much. However, if you rate it higher that's excellent. If everyone's taste matched the same, this world would be stale and boring.

After reading Tim's response, I wouldn't take it personally. He was only trying to draw that we expect to see a close representation between what's on the big screen and what comes in a clamshell package. Granted, he assumed you didn't own ROTF OP. Who's to know if you do or not? ROTF OP set the bar very high for some people, but it had it's faults. Besides, comparing a leader to a voyager is mostly an 'apples to oranges' arguement.

I certainly hope this doesn't discourage you from more forum participation. There will always be some highly subjective opinions out there but, for the most part, they're not personal. Some people are just very passionate about certain subjects. And believe me, if anything does end up personal, it's dealt with.

Yeah, don't mind Timmy. He always comes off condescending to me, just as Ender is generally nigh unbearably sarcastic and I've been mistaken for an arrogant douche (which I am clearly not :P).

It's about 99.5% percent good guys (and girls) on these forums I enjoy interacting with. I'm sure you will too if you give it a minute Spooner.

As for you, Blitz, I was with you and your new system right up until the color coded blocks. Now I'm confused. If you're on a scale of 1-6, does each block represent 1.5 points as a visualization of your scale or is that something different entirely? I can still be on board as long as I know what I'm looking at.

1) Let's refrain from negative comments aimed at specific members please

2) In an effort to find a 'cleaner' system, I converted the 0-3 subratings into a bar system. Red is poor, green is excellent. Thought maybe that would be easier to understand. Guess I thought wrong :(

Ah, well that's not bad, but I just didn't get how it related to the rest of the system. So red=0, orange=1, yellow=2, and green=3 then? That's cool. It'll just take some getting used to.

And sorry if I offended. I like those guys and it was all in jest.
