Review: RTS Battle In Space Set

Is this a general release or an exclusive somewhere? Might pick one up. Going hunting today and would like to keep an eye on this set.

From what I have heard it isn't an exclusive. I have only seen it at Target, but there have been others who have found it at Walmart. I am glad to have this set. I like them a lot.

I've only noticed them at Targets as well. However, Target exclusives usually state as such on the packaging. There was no "exclusive" sticker on it. Therefore, it should be available en masse. Target just has a leg up on it.

 

Huh? I never knew you could do that with the Targetmaster figure pegged into his wrist like that.

Look at Nightstick when in weapons mode. You'll see a vertical tab towards the rear of the gun. If you transform either of Cyclonus' fists in all the way, you'll notice that the stub has a slot. Push the tab on Nightstick into the slot on Cyclonus' wrist stub and voila!

I had the first Cyclonus release, but sold him- he just didn't do much for me. This one is far better looking, the lighter color really wakes up his awesomeness. And little Nightstick is way better now too w/ all the silver. They're both keepers this time.

 

I have Classics Rodimus, so I sold this version. But it does look pretty good in the brighter colors, makes me want to get the Reprolabels set for the first release.

 

Lastly, this is one of the few TFs I've even considered leaving MISB, I really like the presentation.

I was at Walmart last night and I saw they were doing a reset in the toy dept. They had a map of the new Transformers section. I remember it had spots for Activators, Legends, Deluxes, Voyagers and a "Cyclonus vs. Rod" section on the bottom. I take it that's this toy.

got this set last week...must say i am very impressed...missed out on hot rod both times around (classics and henkei)..and IMO this one is superior to both....love the g1 accurate paint job....though the flame could be a bit more visible...cyclonus is pure amazing....i have the classics one and its horrible compaired to this one....the color on this one is perfect.....i have absolutely no gripes about cyclonus...pure win...nightstick is much much better as well...this cyclonus makes both the classics and the henkei one look like crap...glad i held out on getting the henkei...almost caved last month and got it...so glad i didnt.....the whole set is pure win...

I really like this set. I got the last one my Target had and it was in great shape. I missed out on both figures the first time around so this worked out great for me.

 

Also, it doesn't matter to me if the Matrix can't peg in anywhere. I'm just going to wear it on a tiny chain around my neck anyway.

Got it Sunday. Really like Cyclonus in his anime colors; he's lightyears beyond the original deco.

 

My Rodimus has sloppy paint all over, a mold defect that prevents one of his leg-panels from snapping in place in car mode, and stress marks on his elbow joints just from posing him a bit. He feels like a knockoff. Way to go Hasbro QC. :tdown
