First Looks at Transformers Dark of the Moon Deluxe Dreads, Ferrari Figures!

I think it means Ferrari wants some of that sweet movie action. Part of a toy line and cartoon is one thing, but a major motion picture that has a solid money making past is another.

Beetle Borg'D

QFTW

These look overly lame to me. "Hey, lets put GIANT scissor blades... over their heads!!!" /sarcastic enthusiasm

Dude, these are MOST DEFENITELY miss trransformed and im SURE they can swing back and tuck inside them selves as well. OR come off (although in the "PROTOTYPE" <--*keep in mind* they looked to be bolted on. #Either way these will look alot different when they are released then these pictures. Same as Prime and Megatron im sure as well. Keep this in mind guys ;) Remember the first picture of voyager Starscream from movie 1? WOAH! Was that a horrid day. But all in all, IMO Screamers pretty rad in the movies. I like Megs, SS, Prime at least. I DID like Jazz but the best chracter they kill i dont know about M.Bay sometimes. *shakes head*

So let me get this straight: These guys are supposed to be all badass, but the alt mode they choose is basically a beefed up minivan mostly driven by soccer moms and nascar dads? I like the idea of a trio of clones with dreadlocks and who knows what kinds of nasty suprizes. But for me, a bot is defined by its alt mode. If its a big nasty looking offroad vehicle you want, why not something like that red Jeep on 44" tires that was seen on the set and rumored to be Rollbar? Maybe the Toyota FJ cruiser, or if they want to stick with Chevys, then '69-'72 Blazers with the tops removed, rollcaged up and monster trucked out. Suburbans are just big station wagons.

I still like them. I agree the toys are mistransformed and Bay might make them into shameful racial stereotypes but I don't care about the crappy movie as I already know it will suck. Really, what are the odds that Bay will actually make a GOOD Transformers movie with this third film? I would wager that it's as good as the odds that Lucas would make Episode 3 good.

Thing is the vehicle modes are BIG. More mass and regardless as to the soccer mom and Nascar dad comment these are what the US Government types drive in these films. The dreadlocks look more to me like head tentacles and the giant blades just look like pincers and yeah there's a bit of a scarab beetle vibe but I'll be damned if I didn't love it. As for them folding away, it looks like they do. Might have to move the front tires out of the way to do it though. No, as long as the execution is good and the final full transformation for bot mode looks good I'll get a few of these.

My first thought on seeing the Dreads in bot mode was Insecticons too! And surprisingly, I can actually see this being the case based off existing knowledge. Obviously the first clue is their bot appearance. Secondly ... 3 Insecticons, Bombshell, Kickback, and Shrapnel. During filming of a freeway scene, weren't there 3 of the black SUV's seen chasing Bumblebee? And finally, this is Bayverse, anything is possible! Look at Devs and Megatron, nothing close to what people expected. You've got snake like bots, whatever the hell Demolisher was, and most of the characters already in the series, are different then what they originally were (Ironhide, Ratchet, Sideswipe, etc). Plus during production of the first movie all the characters were code named to disguise who was really in the movie, such as Vortex being Blackout. "The Dreads" could be simply nicknamed that on set to refer to something like "The Dreaded Black SUV's" (or other generic name). Those pinchers are just way too familiar looking to overlook this being a possible Bayverse take on Insecticons.

I'm hoping The Dreads aren't just a group of clones. I was really hoping to see 3 exact same SUVs, but with different transformations and different looking bots. So hopefully the image I was looking at is just several copies of that one toy.

The site is down, so I'm stuck with watching this video:
