Amongst the overload of Wave 1 HFTD figures and the many repaints that likely will soon follow, there is a diamond in the rough. Hailstorm is the only original figure coming out in the second wave that's hitting stores now. But how bright of a diamond is he? Check out this review to see if he's worth the hunt.

Looks really tough in both modes. Do the missiles latch into place? If so, is the latch at the front or the rear? I'm going to cut them short so they don't stick out the back in robot mode, but I don't want them to spill out if the latch is at the rear. Thanks!

I've had this figure sometime now and I can say it's one of the best ones of this line, which is per se filled with grateful surprises. The non-springed missile launcher are more a plus for me than anything, since springed 8 launchers would clearly mean 8 times more chances to lost them, the balance of the figure is great, and it shape is coherent with the clumsiness of the character, honestly, for me this is a 10/10 figure.

My only complaint about this figure is the way the feet have the small peg that fits into the head. I think one more additional peg on the leg that connected to hold it together would have made him a 10. I would give him 9 / 10 because he really is a good figure. I really like the fact that the missle launcher has no springs and uses just simple physics to launch. I had no problem launching them with what was supplied fairly accurately and far.

"Overall, the joints are set up good."

Decent review, but c'mon TFormers... grammar like this needs to be proofed.

I like the point Benuah made: a clumsy-looking figure for a clumsy character makes sense! Might Hasbro have intentionally made the character this way to explain some oddities in the figure's design?? Hmm!

I think it's interesting what was said in the review about "Would have been nice to see what this figure would have been like as a voyager".

Voyager size designs getting reduced down to deluxes... that seems to be something that happens a lot?

Normally I'm not a huge fan of gorilla-armed figures like some don't enjoy the ROTF chicken legs but it really works here. The alt-mode is a little overused but also works well with this figure. Even the character bio is great. I can't stop loving this figure.
