It's funny, the world is in a massive economical crisis that's effecting the lives of billions. Yet movie studios can throw around hundreds of millions of dollars on a toy commercial. Maybe I'm in the wrong business.

The movie business does put people to work though. It isn't only the Hollywood types who make money off of the film industry. Local business, caterers, drivers, restaurants, etc... all see some of the money a Big Budget production pulls in. This is great for the economies of Chicago, Detroit, DC, Milwaukee, and where ever else Bay chooses to take Transformers 3 to film. This toy commercial is putting a lot of people to work, and helping a lot of people make money. Good for them :thumb

I would pay $20 for 2 hours straight of robots duking it out in an all out brawl. I just hope they don't destroy LA or New York City, those cities always get destroyed. Time for some new ones to be destroyed

All of those pictures we got from the Chicago movie shoot had a lot debris in them, so I think you will get your wish.

400 million. Really? Really? I would wager a monkey spun out on meth with 20 bucks and some crayons could create something more to the liking of fans.

Hollywood hasn't had monkey movie for awhile... You should sell the rights to it. Have Joey Lawrence be your main character seeing that he needs a sequel to his last monkey movie that he made.

Give everyone on this forum that $400 million and I bet you we'll spend better and wiser... Maybe not.

Aw guys, we can argue about how good/bad the movies are all day and how much the fans hate/love them. But at the end of the day, they make a TON of money. Which is the entire point of the people who make them (Hasbro and Takara too). So at this point, it can't be too big of a stretch of the imagination to believe that the third movie in a highly successful series is getting that big of a budget. I mean, wow it's huge *snicker*, but dude, so far they've made much more of of what they have put in.

For me it's more amazing to think that hey, my silly little robots are bringing in THAT much money and the third movie is one of the biggest budgeted movies ever at this point. It's mind blowing for me, specially remembering when the word Transformers got a scoff from most people, and now its a big deal.

I honestly thought the first movie was going to flop when the news first broke that the rights to the movie was sold in 03.

Words cannot describe how much shock this is to me. I mean seriously, 400 million? Come on.

I highly doubt that it'll make its budget back this time. I really do.

It will easily make it's budget back. Some of you guys may hate these films, but much of the general public loves them...the box office numbers prove that 100%. Not to mention a few of us who REALLY enjoy these movies end up seeing them several times!

400 million is crazy though, especially considering how they said the third film would be a "smaller, more character driven movie"...LOL! So much for that one!

Still, most of the money is being spent on city battles (no more Indiana Jones or National Treasure ripping off!), so I see it as an awesome visual win. Hoping anyways...

It's not that I hate the films, it's just that 400 million is a little too much in my mind.
