i never really cared for roller.. he was in what.. one episode. not to mention i picked up battle rollar.

oh.. and i love the MP megatron figure. i think his robot mode looks great. it's a great mishmash between the G1 figure and the G1 cartoon model. i haven't had any problems with him standing or staying together.. even with my cats climbing all over my shelves. . i guess i just got lucky.

Roller was in TWO episodes! That i know of (possibly more?), the BLUE Roller was in the MTMTE mini series, AND the GREY Roller in a later episode (heh :P)

And its good to hear some POSITIVE news/info on MP-05/Megatron, because im finally getting one this or next month.! Im wicked excited to add him to my Masterpiece collection! :D

I don't know why people complain about MP Megatron; admittedly, mine only came out of the box (which still has its cellophane wrapping on it, albeit with an 'access hatch' sliced into the top end...) once to have the batteries removed. Stood it up on my desk and had a good look at it and all of the accessories - it's perfect. Yes, the upper legs are a little thin, but he stands fine, looks amazing, is pretty much totally accurate to the animation model and has some excellent extras like Kremzeek and the blaster from the movie that kills Optimus. The silver finish is superb, but you might want to keep him in the box as the chrome plating on his diecast inner frame is prone to oxydization D:

Sad fact: when MP 01 came out I wasn't into the Japanese figures and got the American one instead. I then didn't have any money on both occasions that MP-04 has been issued. Consistently good experiences with the QC and attention to detail of the Japanese products from Binaltech onwards persuaded me to turn Japanese. It's rare I get anything nowadays that doesn't come from the Land of the Rising Sun, I'm happy to suck it up and pay extra for quality.

Also, for what it's worth, I've been staring hard at the Rodimus pics and as far as I can tell, he is indeed a triple-changer. Just look at the back kibble - there's a wider, narrower, low-profile windshield and the boot and spoiler for the sports car in there. Mine will most definately be displayed as Hot Rod, not Rodimus.

MP Megatron is a fine toy, just he was a let down for most after the awesome MP's we had gotten before. I bought both the US and Takara first MP Prime. aside from minor cosmetics, there really is no difference. I actually like that 20th Aniversary TFTM edition that came out in 06 best though. Toon accurate and that funky base :)

Yeah i never opened my 20th DVD version of MP Prime (I DID buy it, but returned due to having MP-01 and 20th Anv '04 USA MP O.Prime) ... Does the dvd MP Prime have no chrome? Battledamage? I never even bothered to look at it when i bought it and returned it a few days later cuz i needed money. I ALMOST did that with my MP Skywarp (walmart) this year but went broke cuz i knew id never find one for $30 bucks again (and no tax thanks to NH tax laws)

Back to Rodimus Prime. Im betting hes Hot Rod for sure! You can see hot rods tail lights on his back, and his rear side panels with those tripple pipes ;) He will be THEE awesome Transformer of the year im betting. Maybe even take place as #1 over MP-01 (my all time fave). :shrug

Speaking of Optimus Prime, they need to do a Generations Optimus Prime. The classic ones dated. I'd like to see an long nose truck (like the truck from TF:Prime) and a perfect G1 look a like robot mode to boot! THAT would sell like hot cakes imo! Its new, but still envokes Prime as we have all wanted him for ages. And i mean a Ultra or Voyager class size. Perfect size imo for a leader is Voyager with dlx troops.

I agree, MP Megs is an astounding feat of engineering (c'mon, who'd have ever thought we'd get anything close to the toon model out of a realistic gun mode??!).

A couple of touch ups and he looks even better...

That picture speaks volumes. Your choices for a G1 Megatron: this astonishing figure, or triggerdick...

Megatron is an amazing piece of figure engeenering, I won't deny that.

All the flips, hinges, folds and hidden parts are astounding!!!

Still it does come off flat and even worse frail.

If that wasn't the case I never would have scored a bunch of broken ones to piece together whole ones.

Even my first one who's been handled twice is suffering to plastic fatigue especialy in the hips.

So while I will agree the transformation is astounding, the figure itself is scary in need of the support given by weight and girth.

(please no perv jokes)
