Review - Transformers War For Cybertron

I love it! So much, that I had neglected the forums the past two days.

I've mostly been playing the multiplayer, since I go for the achievements on XBox, and it's so much easier to find people to play now. But I've read that's there are several Easter Eggs on the Autobot Campaing that us fans will enyoy.

I think it's a great game for us fans, as for non-fans... People who like shooters will still enjoy it a lot, as for those who are not fans and don't like shooters, won't even try it. I managed to convince two of my brothers-in-law to get it, by letting them play the demo.

thank god WFC got a very good review, two things i have to say i'm a tiny bit dissapointed that Megatron didn't fight Optimus but every thing else is great and i definitly think that within the next couple years that they could come out with WFC 2, does anyone know if you could get the code for Shockwave and Demolisher and use it on a game that didn't come with the code?

There are so many things I adore and dislike about the game. It was actually worth the $60 I paid for it, unlike the previous 2 Transformers games (the ones based off the movies).

I loved the 3rd person shooter point of view.

I also loved the limited ammunition, shooters are lame when you can walk around shooting anything that exists and you can do it forever.

I also was digging the signature Fusion Cannon with Megatron. Only guns I weren't very impressed with were the 2 shotguns, I couldn't find a serious difference between the two. But that's just me.

Now I could go on about everything I loved, but I'd be here typing for eternity and you wouldn't bother to read half of this post, would you?

Now I was beyond extreme disappointment with the short campaign and easy difficulty. I'm the kind of guy that has trouble playing Gears of War on normal mode, but I buzzed through hard mode in only a few hours, and had most of the trouble in the first 2 levels.

It was a huge letdown that Escalation was online-only. I would spend forever playing that if it weren't online-only. Actually, a lot of things were a huge letdown because practically everything is online! What about us people who can't get our hands into online play?

And lastly, the sorry excuse for a melee system. I was expecting a button to let me swing my mace around a lot, but all I get is this lame single overhead swing that leaves me vulnerable. It's almost like they only worked on it at the last second because they figured no one would want to use it.

I would say yes, you can even buy them on eBay. The way they work (basing it on how my Jazz code came in my XBox 360 version) is: You get a little card with a code, you log into Activision (or create an account if you don't have one), input the code, and it gives you a code to download the character.

i actually like the melee, i don't like the button to use it, but it's very effective. just one hit for some of them and they're dead.

also, i saw the game was one of yahoo's top stories at one point today, it got an 8/10 from one reviewer and a 9/10 from the other (i forget which sites gave those ratings)

I found some of the customization options disappointing too. High Moon's staff dropped everything at 5pm every day to play test multiplayer to fine tune it. I think it really shows, and the problems of easy team identification was something they mentioned at the hands on. I think some of that fine tuning may have turned into over compensation here. I think players would trade some of the easy identification for a few more customization options.

(For my part I keep opening up at team mates on accident anyway, but that probably has more to do with my skill than the game.)

I agree highly, The campaign is EPIC, and I've been having a blast with it, but Multiplayer customization is a serious issue, particularly for the Decepticons. I was relatively cheezed off to discover that the only Decepticon color options are comprised of:

Charcoal

Greenish Grey

Bluish Grey

Pinkish Grey

Purplish Grey

and Greyish Grey.

And given the inclusion of Reticle color coding, color coded names above players, and the complete absence of friendly fire, there's no reason for it! I should totally be able to paint up Megatron in all neon Purple and Green as a salute to G2 if I wanted (not that I do...) But still, I think my criticism stands. [/rant]

Anyway.... Rest of the game rocks though. :win

You should really read my post before jumping the gun like you just did because I now have to explain something that is already explained. I don't play online (you would be able to figure this out if you read my post) and that's the whole purpose of me saying that it is a disappointment.

And you should really understand that people make typos. I read your post, and I accidentally put "on"line instead of "off"line.
