War for Cybertron site updated with three new characters and more.

Lol they put Sideswipe in it, what do you know? Also I thought Jetfire was still a Decepticon untill he switched sides in the G1 cartoon upon reaching earth? Whoops.

As per the cartoon, Skyfire (Jetfire) was neither a Decepticon nor Autobot on Cybertron. He and Starscream were scientists from Cybertron who came across the uncharted planet (Earth) that Skyfire crashed to and was lost until millions of years later when the Decepticons found him and recruited him (with Starscream's help and push)to their ranks.

 

In the Marvel Comic, Jetfire was created by Shockwave on Earth, if I recall correctly.

If the game is good enough, and they give us a good story, I'm sure we'll all forgive the little changes like when did Jetfire turn into an Autobot.

 

I just hope we get background appearances and cameos from other characters, I would love to see Hound, Kup and Prowl, even if we only see them at the other end of a com screen or something. Or like in Blurr's spotlight, having someone arrive riding inside Bulkhead's vehicle mode.

As per War Within: Dark Ages, Jetfire was already a part of the Autobots, though he does still have a "history" with the Decepticons that was never fully revealed". This left an air of distrust towards him among some of the others, especially Grimlock.

From the back story that is giving in the G1 episode, Jetfire was a scientist with Starscream, it lead you to believe it was before the war or before these two took sides. Jetfire left Cybertron for exploration, he didn't pick a side till he was thalled out and Megatron manipluated him into joining the Decepticons. After Jetfire saw what the Autobots were about and that Megs was Evil, he switched sides.

 

 

Sideswipe looks sweet, I wonder if the customizing will allow you to remove the racing stripes....and possibly add flames

If the designers were nice they would put some cool decals in there for us to use. I'm worried all you'll be able to do is change the color.

 

I wonder if Jetfire will have somekind of battle mask, maybe it'll be in a cutscene.

 

I must have missed Skywarp's character profile...I don't remember seeing it.

Wow. I hope they release a book with all the character Artwork. I will buy that in a heart beat. I hope they focus on making the figures for this line. I can almost see the EPIC movie.

 

I would say that Jetfire as an AutoBot is the liberty they are taking in balancing the plane characters. I'm fine with that.

 

I can't wait until this game is released. :ohyeah

 

I haven't anticipated a game's release since....Street Fighter Zero 3 for the Sega Saturn.

*happysigh* Sideswipe looks SO awesome. While he looks pretty scuffed up as opposed to the shiny Lamborghini we're used to seeing, the texture just adds to his scrappy fighter/speed demon personality.

 

Thundercracker and Jetfire look perfect as well. Like others have said, those designs need to be made into toys. Right. Now.

 

Breaker, I noticed the P.O.K.E. reference as well, and I laughed my butt off. It's gonna be awesome to see that used in multiplayer ... from a distance, anyway.

I'll be grabbing the PC version in addition to the 360 version, considering it's only $39 on Amazon I don't feel bad for double-dipping on this one. I only hope that with Sideswipe's reveal we eventually get Sunstreaker too. If he doesn't appear in the game, playable or not, they'll have missed out on a big opportunity for some great back and forth banter between the brothers.
