Review: Arcee Animated Figure

Looks nice enough, tho my wife will be slightly offended that the female Autobot is naturally pink. Good to hear it's not quite so.

I like the wings in both modes; in robot mode, they help keep the back kibble from looking too much like a backpack- they're wing supports! I noticed the LF wheel in the first pic is not touching the ground, is there an issue with keeping all 4 aligned and down?

You mentioned the open cockpit of the G1 character, what's under the canopy on this version? If you took the canopy off, would it perhaps look like an open cockpit, rather than expose robot parts? It would also take some kibble off her robot form.

If I ever see one i'll prob buy her.

Scored Ratchet, but not off the pegs. Off of TRU.com! Other than reports if her showing up in Times Square, it seems no other TRU in New York has gotten them in yet! I've called Albany, Syracuse, Rochester & Buffalo, and it's all the same response: "Haven't received them yet!"

It's a delema. again I'm seriously just thinking of going CFB.

I know it's a crapload of money, but the runs are getting fewer and farther between

$250 for a G1 acurate headmaster Arcee...

Don't really wanna, but if Has/Tak won't give what else can I do?

(besides pay my car insurance and cable bill for a month)

Believe me, you don't want that CFB figure. I've "played" with one at TFcon 2 years ago, it's an utter piece of crap that will self-destruct the minute you look at wrong. Poor molding, the Headmaster is a POS. Looks like it was carved in a bar of soap.

I wonder if I'll ever see this on my side of the pond... I'd probably pick it up if I saw it on the shelf, but I really can't see why she's so rare and sought after, it isn't such a great toy IMO.

I like the figure, and if they released a lighter pink repaint, I'd buy it (as long as it's reasonable).

Even though it does essentialy get the job done, it really makes me wonder how long till a more robotic and less toony Classics/Universe/Generations version will be out, cause this is a bit of a tease.

Given the apparent popularity of this Arcee, let's hope someone takes note and decides to give us a Classics (or MP!) version.

I'm also keen to see the Takara paint job on her.

I too really hope she shows up in the UK, thought given the stock that the 3 TRU's near me have it feels like :animated is drying up over here!

i'm surprised, i got Arcee back at the begining of March it took a while for TFormers to get one

Yeah, that's when I found mine as well. My local Toys R Us was pretty well stocked with Arcee and Ratchet. I picked up two (one to keep MISB and one for display) and there were still at least eight Arcee's left. I'm not sure if distribution is really the issue. I think some overzealous collectors are snatching up all they see and EBaying them. I guess if that's your thing.....

Actually, I'm starting to think distribution IS the issue. It's the polar opposite on the West Coast with tons of Ratchets but no Arcees to date. I have only heard of ONE Arcee being spotted in the entire state of California.

As far as I know, Arcee and Ratchet were shipped together in cases (in equal quantities as well) from Hasbro. It just sounds like somebody sucked up all of the Arcees in Cali and left Ratchet behind. Poor, poor Ratchet.... He's getting no love.

Blitz-Wing and Robimus are correct. Buffalo has yet to get any TFA Arcee figures at all. It is definitely a matter of distribution. In fact, checking the verious websites with sitings listings, I have counted, at the most, 20 cities around the country that have had the figures. Distribution has been very poor regarding this figure.

I'd like to think that if Arcee keeps selling out, Toys R Us will continue to order more of her from Hasbro. I hope this is the case.

It doesn't work that way with exclusives. The store/company gets the bid/rights to sell the exclusive and the figures are shipped directly to them from the factory, this way they don't have to go to Hasbro 1st.

The whole run of figs would get sent to TRU distribution.

I'm sure different company's work different ways but this is common. It's also rare that a company will go back to the factory for a second run unless it's a repaint.
